[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro ✉ notes: let's kill these sonsabitches >:c both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. The storm had rolled in overnight. They had taken the rest of the day to prepare and decided to rest up before they went anywhere. The inn was nice at least, so they had that. When the sun was rising (or did they oversleep? Sky was so overcast), they had set out in the pouring rain, making it through the jungle that was quickly becoming a swamp. He wasn't really a fan of swamps. With the rain coming down as hard as it was, they couldn't exactly see that far ahead of them. Every now and then there was the soft rumbling of thunder. Lightning's flash couldn't exactly break through the dense jungle.
Yeah, there was definitely no fire here. This place was just too soaked. It was time for an autumn rain it seemed. He was glad he'd gotten a poncho to wear, allowing the water to for the most part slide right off. He always loved the sound of rain hitting his hood, it was nice and relaxing for some reason. He'd use it to help calm his nerves a little as he trudged through the jungle, bow in hand, sword at his waist, and his new trusty Sheikah buddy at his side. He actually felt pretty confident about this. Although how could he not? It was rooting out a spider infestation, there would be no challenge here.
It didn't take them long to find the cave as he sneaked up close, his boots sloshing through the soaked mud. Thank the gods he got the thick leather, he wasn't going to be getting shit leaking through his boots. That stuff was just awful. The two of them stood outside the front cave entrance, rock covered in moss and vine, nothing flashy. This was definitely the place though. The webbing that was quickly disintegrating in the rain was proof of that. Alex nodded for a moment before turning to his new adventuring buddy. "I'm thinking before we go in, we look for any other entrances. Make sure they can't flip away if nothing else. You?" Really, this was an equal effort, good to make sure both sides were agreed on something. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | Crystal didn't mind all the water as she pulled her mask tighter around her face, setting her scarf into the place, she was thankful that sheikah armor repelled quite a bit of water before becoming saturated. Even then though, she was a good amount of soaked, so she'd definitely be a grump by the end of this... as if she wasn't to begin with. She moved along side her Hylian hunt partner silently, raising her eyebrows when he spoke up. She was already looking over at all webbing and structures, grimacing at the location that the damned spiders had decided to set up in. "Yea, that's our best option. This jungles too dense to just charge in like a couple of dumbasses." She scrunched her nose at the smell of spider venom working its way through the flesh of whatever poor creature it had caught in a web. So they had food waiting somewhere, which meant they were probably taking refuge from the rain rather than wandering around. She'd give the area above her an occasional glance before looking back at Alex, nodding her head for him to take the charge. Her kunai were tucked away in a pouch and muffled, her short sword resting on her side, her hand on it's pommel. It'd probably be a great idea to have something with as much piercing power as a bow or something, but she didn't have that luxury. She didn't choose a bow when they had given them weapons. Hell, they hadn't even given them the good kinda weapons. "Deal with what you're given", they said as they allowed two young Sheikah to go out and fight monsters. Yes, it was their own choice, but still. Geez. Throw a ninja a bone. Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro ✉ notes: let's kill these sonsabitches >:c both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. So first thing was to examine the area then, get a good idea of the layout and go from there. No charging in like dumbasses, that was a good way to put it. It was just so nice to have someone who seemed to know what they were doing then. If they had to go in through the front, then so be it, but that at least meant there was only one way out, which meant that the skulltulas would at least have nowhere to run. "I'll check around the sides, you climb up and see if there's any on the top. I'll let you know if I find anything." He was good but he wasn't a Sheikah, she could probably climb in the pouring rain without slipping at least.
As he began to trudge off around the cave, he remarked to Crystal that "I don't think we need to worry about surprises, not right now anyway." They were hunkering down. Really not that he thought about it they probably wouldn't have a better opportunity for a bit. They were waiting out the storm, probably a bit more lethargic than they usually would be, gods knew he could snooze right about now, he loved thunderstorms. Right now they'd be fairly easy targets, they just had to make sure they weren't just walking into some trap or that the skulltulas wouldn't be able to run and rebuild elsewhere.
His boots continued to slosh through the mud as he circled the cave, brushing away moss and other plant life to see if something was being covered up. He would occasionally stomp the ground ahead and gently to see if there were any burrows, but aside from the mud, the ground was firm and didn't give, instead the cave just seemed to be steep, deep more than wide. As he continued to circle, it was becoming clear that at least on ground level, there was no other entrances that he was aware of. "Anything up there?" He called up to his Sheikah companion, maybe there was an entrance out of the top of the cave. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | "Roger dodger." She replied, giving him a thumbs up before moving in a crouch over to the cave. At least he had the sense to send her to climb around on the rocks. While she wasn't entirely slip proof, she was better trained to manage how to climb on slick surfaces. As she made her way over, she'd wait for the spiders to begin moving before she'd move, using their skittering noises to cover up any potential noise she may create while clinging to the side of their cave. Her hands gripped onto whatever hold she could find, feet soon following suit as she began scaling to the top of the cave. Once she was up there though, it was both easier and harder to search for holes at the same time. There were a few spots along the top of the cave that looked like it had collapsed in over time, but were sealed off either way. After a moment of searching, she would look over the edge of the cave and shake her head. "Nothing up here." Nothing but water and moss. Carefully, she scaled her way back down to ground level with Alex, crouching back down, resting comfortably on her calves as she just accepted that she was saturated. Just cause she was trained for it, doesn't mean she necessarily liked it. But once you accepted how saturated you were, you just... went with it. "Did you find anything around the ground?" She asked in turn, waiting for a response while contemplating the best way to push into a horde of spiders in an enclosed space. Probably would be best to bottle neck them. They'd just have to see though. Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. "Nothing." He almost immediately responded before coming back to meet with her at the cave entrance. No, it just seemed to go into a near sharp descent. Once they went in, they'd probably have to climb back out. "Guess we're going in front door then." Really, where else did they have to go to get in? If they could get a fire going then they could just burn them out, but Crystal seemed concerned with attracting the attention of the Yiga (he still wasn't sure they were real but oh well), so fire was out of the question. Plus he doubted they could get one going in the rain like this.
Looking in, he looked back at Crystal. She was mobility and stealth incarnate. She knew how to be lightfooted, and she could probably get down there much easier than he could. That wasn't the main problem itself though. "If it's steep, there's almost certainly a web at the bottom for whatever falls in." He remarked as he blinked. "How good are you at getting down there without getting stuck?" Moments like this he really wished he had fire, then he could just burn it. He could try hacking his way through it but that ran the danger of the sword getting tangled up. "Really it seems the hardest part is getting in. Only one way out; through us, and I don't see spiders being a problem for either of us."
When he actually turned to look at her, he couldn't supress the smirk in time. Yeah, he was soaked too. The poncho could only do so much, but he didn't mind it too much. He loved rain and thunderstorms, so this was just par for the course for him. Yet here she was, looking half drowned, even if she was taking it in stride. "If you want, I can get you some chicken soup after this?" He offered with a small chuckle. It wasn't that expensive and it was the least he could do for the warning and the help she was providing. Plus he didn't want her getting sick over some spiders, that would just be rude. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | "Well. There's not many more options we can take. And I'll take you up on that chicken soup later." She considered the ground beneath her for a bit. There wasn't much to be seen. The skies were dark and the cave was darker so there was no real measuring how far down the ground was. Though, he was right, there was a high chance of there being web at the bottom. "Damned spiders, they'll probably feel me if any are on any of their webs if I land on one."She wasn't scared though, just irritated, obviously. She ran through several possibilities in her mind before shaking her head. "I can get down though, just give me a moment to climb. If you hear cussing, there's webs and I've crashed into them." She grinned and chuckled to herself. This was stupid but this was as good as it was going to get with these conditions. Gripping the edge of the drop off, Crystal began to work her way down, carefully finding places to grab, pinch points, anything she could get her hands and feet on. When she made it to the bottom, it seems Alex was right, She wound up almost knee deep in web and made a grimace. "Shits pretty bad, be careful coming down." She spoke just loud enough to be heard, and kept her eyes on the cave ahead, letting them adjust to the incredibly low levels of light. She heard them moving, skittering around, becoming much more active almost as soon as she landed in the web. One hand hovered over her sword, ready to draw it. There had to be quite a few of them as their skittering was difficult to pin point. Bring it on, Crystal wants payback for her brother when he was bitten as a kid. Best way to get it, to be honest. [attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. He looked more amused than anything by her predicament. "Deal. We'll see if we can't get the kind with carrots." He figured she wasn't too thrilled about getting soaked, and well, he was right. Not that he could blame her. He'd come padded and ready for this sort of thing and all she had was that skintight armor to help the Sheikah be more stealthy. He did find humor in her comments though. So if she started cussing then that meant that things had already gone wrong. He only shrugged his shoulders at that one. "So far that just seems like you." At least from the very short time he had with her he could tell that she was a very vulgar person. If nothing else, it was a fun break.
She went in and he nocked a bodkin arrow and waited. Sure enough, after a while, she reaffirmed that it was pretty bad down there, adding on a shit. "You sound pretty calm for having crashed into a web." He called down in a teasing manner before noticing the flickers of movement near the ceiling down some ways. He couldn't really see what they were, but considering Crystal was at the bottom, it wasn't that hard to figure it out. Drawing his arrow, he took aim and fired it at the moving blackness, hearing only a screech and the crashing of a carapace against the walls as it crashed down, an arrow sticking out of its abdomen. These things weren't that durable. Had they been trying to flank Crystal or something? It wasn't important.
Drawing another arrow, he quickly nocked, drew and loosed it at the other moving shape, sending a second skulltula tumbling down. Right, well things were finally starting to get underway now weren't they? "Alright, I'm coming down." He announced. Well shit, that might be problematic. Hm, well. Looking at his bow, he took off the quiver wrapped around his waist before letting them drop down to the bottom. "See if you can keep those off of me for a bit?" And with that, he started climbing down. Nothing wrong with being prepared about all of this. I'll give you my reply with crystal in a bit. Let me just formally post this stuff. The skulltula that Alex fired an arrow at drops from the ceiling, seeming to be dead. But upon closer inspection, it's much too big to be a skulltula and instead, a Queen Gohma stands up into the lighting, the injury from the arrow seeping now as the monster let out an infuriated cry. Alexander ElessarCrystal GenjaroOOC: I really need to try and figure this system out. Preferably sooner rather than later.

| I'm tired of the way you look at me | Crystal had just finished cutting her way out of the web when she discovered why the skittering had been so wide spread in the small cavern. "WHOA HEY FUCK YOU BACK OFF" Nearly jumping back into the web when the Queen Gohma fell from the ceiling, she raised one fist defensively while the other hand had pulled a kunai free and chucked it at the ghoma, landing in her leg while she was still recovering, giving Crystal enough time to back off from the angry mother. She gave her ear a good rub and snapped her fingers next to it, the roar of the monster having caused her ear immediately next to it to start ringing. "Hey Alex. Shoot it harder next time." She commented up towards him, giving a yelp as the Queen pounced towards her, barely dodging the attack by dropping to the ground. At least it wasn't a cow. Drawing her sword, Crystal continued to back up some until she had a good distance between her and the .... thing. It wasn't a spider, that was for sure. Spider like in some manners, yes. Spider? No. Watching it's movements, she glared at it and picked up a rock, chucking it at her hard exoskeleton when she started to climb the wall once again. "What the hell do you think you're doing?! Get back down here I'm not done with you!" The rock did nothing of course, and she continued climbing. "Hey, think you can do that thing where you shoot it again?"Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Alex could only give a look of resignation as the spider turned out to actually be a Gohma Queen. Crashing down next to Crystal, he watched as his bow and arrows were plodding on down and out of his grasp. Really, he couldn't blame Crystal for not getting it as she immediately went deeper into the cave, the Gohma intent on getting itself a tasty Sheikah snack. Alex could only keep the deadpan stare as he nodded. "Of course." He muttered to himself as he started to speed up the descent. He was no Sheikah, and it was showing as he stumbled and cut himself here and there on the jagged rocks. He was doing what he could to help, but it would take a few seconds as he finished the descent.
And then she asked for him to shoot the queen again. He looked over to where she had been, noting the bow and arrows being stuck in some cut webbing. "... I mean." He remarked, before ripping the bow out of the webbing. This shit was gross. Fumbling around in the dark beneath his feet, he managed to pick up a bodkin arrow. Good enough. He nocked the bow real quick, drew it, and shot it at Gohma's back, at least he figured the large mass was her back. He didn't need to do anything truly damaging, just more to get her attention, and he figured that would do it. His hands began to fumble in the dark, picking up scattered arrows, two broadheads and three bodkins. There were more he was sure, but they would need more time.
He could handle Gohma. This was not an ideal situation, but it could be dealt with. The problem was making sure they didn't get overwhelmed. "See if there are any spawn and take them out, please." Gohma had a tough shell but his arrows could pierce it. Really, he needed her to expose her eye, then a good shot with a broadhead should seriously damage her, but he couldn't do that if there were little bastards running around making him miserable. He also figured that maybe they should look into bow shopping or something. Did Sheikah not get trained for them or?
