| I'm tired of the way you look at me | Now would've been a great time for her to have gone back in time and picked the bow as her primary weapon choice. Sheikah were a well adaptable species, but the major thing about them was is that they were heavily stealth based, and preferred to move as quietly as possible. Crystal had only sort of touched on the bow for her lessons, and done well enough to pass the basic courses required for the warriors. Yea, she should've taken the time to learn bow a bit better. She watched as Alex made his way into the cave and some squelching noises echoed about. "Yup. On it." She'd question how the hell this thing was mistaken for a Skulltula later. For now, she moved about the cavern carefully, finding the trail of eggs she was dropping, running her sword into each one before she was suddenly cut off by the creature falling to the floor once again. Luckily, it crashed into it's last egg, so that saved some trouble for Crystal. The Queen Gohma had it's attention fixed on Crystal no longer as she seemed to turn towards the one holding the bow. "I don't think she likes your arrows by the way." Her brother was going to kill her for this. As the Gohma's eye opened up, crystal was running over to the same side Alex was on, putting herself behind him, at the ready. She didn't know how he fought yet, but she didn't want to be on the other end of those arrows, that was for sure. Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Hearing the squelching and screeching was a mixed bag. On one hand, it revealed that, no shit, she had managed to spawn a bunch of larva at some point and they might have to deal with the rest. On the other, it made him feel confident that he wouldn't have to be dealing with it. He would just be dealing with the mom. Well shit. On the bright side, he wasn't along in this either as Crystal ran back over to him and parked herself behind him. Well that was fair, he was shooting in the dark here. There wasn't really much he could aim for other than a squirming mass that he couldn't completely make out. This must have been so easy for Crystal, she could probably see everything going on in the dark.
At least shooting the queen had brought her off Crystal, that was a good thing. It was even exposing her eye too! That was just fantastic. Alex shook his head with an amused snort more than anything. "I think you're wrong. She's coming to get more, isn't she?" He said, shooting her a grin as he took one of the broadheads that he had found. If the eye was exposed, then bodkin would just be a waste right now, best to do as much damage as he could. Gohma were well protected, but the eye was a weak spot. He fired off the broadhead, aimed right at Gohma's eye. He wasn't sure how much it would do but hopefully it'd give him and Crystal an opportunity to do some real damage, if not kill it outright before it could recover.
This would be easier if she had a bow or something. Lowering his bow, he unsheathed his bastard sword. "So I'll hit its legs, see if we can't just disable it and make it easy pickings." He nodded before looking back with a quirked brow. "Think you can grapple and run the eye through?" He didn't really know entirely what the Sheikah (and apparently Yiga) could do, but he'd heard they were superhuman. But he never heard anything about superhuman strength. He had a feeling he'd be a better fit as he moved forward to hack away at Gohma's legs in wide and powerful arcs, hoping to cripple it before it could try climbing again. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | Alright, now was a good time to really focus. At least for her. She was still young, she wasn't like the older warriors in the village that made this shit look easy, no. She watched as the Gohma crippled down in pain, an arrow stuck well in it's eye now. "Yup!" Was all she said before staring at the top of it's head. She stared for a good moment before suddenly disappearing in a puff. Sucking in a large breath when she landed on top of the Gohma, she tightened her grip on it to where she could regain her senses and drew her sword, one hand and both of her knees squeezing the Gohma in order to stay put as the creature put up a pretty good sized tantrum. Taking her sword, she shoved it in-between the Queen's eye lids, forcing her to close her eye further, and mostly for good out of fear that it'd be struck again, that was fine, really. There was enough blood loss going on that it'd lose quite a bit of it's fight rather quickly. It was still successful in forcing Crystal to jump off though. With her sword lodged under a layer of exoskeleton, Crystal jumped was thrown from her back. "You bitch, who said you could do that?" Nature did, crystal. She may have been blinded, but she was at the end of her fight/flight reaction, and got a burst of strength from it. She'd be going down soon enough. [attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. As Alex hacked through another leg with his bastard sword, he couldn't help but shoot an incredulous look as he saw Crystal disappear in a puff of smoke, then noting her suddenly on top of the Gohma, stabbing it in the eye. "You can do that?!" He called out. Why couldn't anyone else do that? Just straight up goddamn teleport? Or was it invisibility? Either way, he wanted to be able to do it. So much of his fights would have gone so much easier if he could have gone invisible or poofed or whatever at any time. Maybe he could get her to show him that later? Would be a nice thing to have.
But with her having so valiantly jumped off, things were somewhat winding down. She totally wasn't thrown, he wouldn't say anything on that, lest he get in trouble down the road or something. Instead, he just gave her a look as he calmed himself, taking a few steps back. He pulled out one of the bodkins he'd managed to scavenge. "Keep your distance, it'll bleed out at this point." Really the fight was over. The queen was crippled and blinded. This was its last gasp before it gave out and died. Whenever Gohma advanced, Alex just took a couple steps back, it was too crippled to really charge. Just needed to keep their distance and wait out the inevitable, then they could climb on out.
Really, it was surprising that this place had a Gohma instead of the expected skulltula infestation, but oh well. Alex fired the first bodkin arrow at Gohma's mass before simply knocking a second and then firing it again. At this point, he was just speeding up the inevitable and slowing it down even more. He took the last bodkin he'd scavenged and fired it off at the Gohma. He still had one broadhead but he'd save that for later. "I have to say, this went better than I had expected." He didn't expect for them to die or anything, but he had expected one of them to get hurt. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | It doesn't matter how much you practice that, it seems like you can never get over the nausea that happens afterwards. Maybe that was just her youth and 'true inexperience' talking. Shaking her head, Crystal took several steps out of the way of the weak attempt of a charge and look at Alex. "Don't say that until we're safe and paid." She sighed out, watching as the Gohma kicked a few times before stilling. "Odd. You figure someone would know the difference. They said infestation, so maybe this thing came in and chased the Skulltula out?"Maybe it was just another creature seeking shelter from the relentless downpour outside. Walking over to the Gohma, she gave her a hard kick on the closed eye before determining that she was dead enough for her to pull her sword free. She looked around at the webbing and the environment and it just... didn't seem very Gohma like to her? All of the nesting and webbing was very Skulltula in appearance, in fact, Gohma rarely laid a web, it seemed, considering they had a different type of egg. "I don't know, what say you to getting outta here?" She spoke, swinging her sword to shake some of the monster fluid off, looking down at the Gohma still. It was dead, it wasn't disappearing to smoke or fading away. Good enough for her. She still had yet to really see a Yiga face to face, and she didn't really wanna face one in this cave, soaking wet. [attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro✉ notes: we can end here or you can exit, up to you~ both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Approaching the body, he took a moment to stick it with his bastard sword. It was his own way of making sure it really was dead. Yes, Crystal had checked, but he also wanted to make sure. Still, it didn't make sense. He looked around him as best as he could. These were skulltula webs, it was just that simple. So then what explained the absence? Did the Gohma drive them out or use them as incubators? That didn't make sense. Was it a temporary expulsion or permanent? Eggs hatched quickly, it was made them so dangerous for any travelers who wound up being caught by one. "Sounds good. We might want to come back later just to make sure though. None of this makes sense." He agreed, sheathing his sword and placing his bow back over his back.
Stepping back over to the bottom of the climb, he again fumbled around for his arrows, slowly but surely picking each one up to return it to his quiver, strapping that back to his belt. That was that. Aside from the scrapes from the hasty descent to help Crystal, everyone was perfectly fine. They were both soaked, but that couldn't be helped. They'd just be soaked again once they left. He turned back to his newfound Sheikah companion. "Now I believe I owe you some chicken soup with carrots?" He gave a smirk. He had offered, and she had taken him up on that offer. It would be rude if he didn't follow through with it.
And with that, he began to climb. Up he went aways before he looked back. "Why not stay with me for a bit? Maybe help you find something better than those kunai." He remarked before he went back to climbing. Soon enough he'd be in the rain and getting the hell out of there. It'd be nice to have someone along with him, plus she really could use a bow or something to help with these situations. Those throwing knives of hers were handy, but they didn't pack the raw punch of a bow. Still, it'd be nice to have someone to pass the time with while he was traveling the land.
