What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ | Axel had spent a stupid amount of time doing various push ups and sits ups to bide his time. The foot soldier that was supposed to be here didn't show, and the only thing stopping Axel from open palm smacking a wild bear in the face was the fact that he had to behave his self. If it wasn't for this fact, he'd be pushing his self to the limits doing everything in his power to not hunt down that little flake his self and bring him to his knees, begging to Ganon for some kind of mercy.
Standing up and commanding his familiar to disappear, he crossed his arms and re-assumed his disguise. He may as well get moving and do the job his self since it seemed that his companion wasn't going to make a show. Cracking his neck, he moved out from the cover over the hill and started walking down the road towards the stables. Maybe there, he could find someone to drag with him to find the bandits. Maybe at the same time, he could convert someone to Yiga, but he really doubted it. It was worth a shot though, but he'd have to be careful.
Pick up the wrong person and he could find his self surrounded by enemies. While he was sure he could handle it, he had to stay low. The good kind of low. Walking up to the man at the stables, he listened to him go over his little attempt to sell Axel a horse. With a deep frown and a shake of his head, he simply asked "Has a strange man wearing a green scarf walked by here?" He needed to find that bastard, and he needed to do it under cover. He couldn't have Mot track the man and wind up being led into a town or near one with his familiar out. That'd risk Sheikah detecting him, and the emblem on Mot's flank sold out what he was without a doubt. If the man he was looking for was on the road, he'd have to bait him off the trail and... ugh. Why couldn't things be simple?
If he had someone walking with him, he'd look less suspicious to Sheikah. They've been on edge ever since the blood moon, and it was a massive inconvenience. |

The chain of command seemed to be lacking in the “foot solider” sect of this Yiga operation. One moment Yara was ordered to the training yard and then the next she was being sent out to rendezvous with one of the more prominently ill-tempered elites of the clan. In the fashion of which she had been berated and ordered off she assumed that her commander was going to be quite irate and take it out on her. This had Yara’s stomach in knots as she raced to the hillside. She was sorely tempted to explain her absence as the shortcomings of the seniority in her training squadron; however, making up half-assed excuses was no way to present oneself to higher authority. With that she silently resigned herself to accept any punishment he saw fit for her negligence.
She arrived at the rendezvous point in just the nick of time to see Axel change into his disguise, send his giant bear, Mot, away, and proceed on with the mission. She cursed herself for not running faster, even as her sides screamed in agony and her lungs ached for a reprieve. She righted herself and changed into the simple Hylian disguise of a blonde haired green-eyed Hylian in simple traveler’s garb. It would not do to rush to him now that he was out in the open, she needed to stay low as to not draw attention to them or their operation. She had been shortly briefed and advised they were seeking bandits and a man with a green scarf. If the two were related she hadn’t caught on entirely. She shadowed him casually towards the stable, keeping the air of an insignificant traveler to be disregarded by most of the passerby’s.
As she neared the stables she was solicited by a wandering salesman and she groaned inwardly. He was proffering some common fruits for the area and her eye caught the perfect yellow gleam of a banana. Maybe this would be her covert way to signal him without direct approach. She purchased the banana and proceeded to a fence post where she could rest. Disguise in mind she was a weary, hungry traveler but she was in need of a breather and a snack is always useful. She hoped she would catch his eye or at least be able to tail him till it was safe to approach him.

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ | Ever since he had changed into his disguise, the prickling sensation going down the back of his neck wasn't wrong. He was being followed, but as he turned around and saw the familiar 'face' eating a banana, the prickles faded away. Waving one hand to the stable worker dismissively, Axel made his past Yara and simply looked down at her as he passed. The fake blue eyes looked gentle thanks to the color, but rage boiled behind the stoic face. "Hmph of course I run into you." They couldn't be assed to send the little fuck that had flaked out on him, so they sent Yara instead.
Her familiar, Jett, would prove more useful than the small cat that was going to be with him anyhow. Mot was much less inclined to turn around and tear apart a familiar if he and Axel both respected it's strength. Earth was simply a respectable element. It made familiars hardy and incredibly wall like. If that wall was made out of several feet of iron and embedded into the ground. At least as this foot soldier grew into, hopefully, a respectable and powerful fighter, so would Jett.
He continued on his leisurely pace huffing to his self every now and then, only coming to a halt when he was out of sight from the stables. That flake's head was going to be his when he got back. He'd talk more to her when they weren't out in the open and in front of everyone. |

She could feel the rage burning behind his gentle blue eyes, that was an oxymoron in and of itself. Gentle and Axel where like saltwater and oil…because saltwater burns. Her response to him was taking an intentional bite out of her snack and maintaining unblinking eye contact while his massive shadow crossed over her. I will always be in someone’s shadow.
Bitterness washed over Yara and she shoved herself off the fence post grinning brightly as if running into an old traveling acquaintance “Fancy meeting up with you in these parts, last time I saw you it was in the Tabantha outskirts. Messy deal with those bears, huh? Glad to see you recovered quite well” She chattered along excitedly about her travels. It was all aimless dribble and she figured he would probably be perturbed even more. However, this was less conspicuous than just silently going in stride next to him. That was the whole point though, not to draw attention to themselves and if anyone did happen to pay attention it would just look like to travelers meeting up again after a a crazy run in with a bear out in Tabantha. Which was not unheard of to begin with? Nevertheless, she hoped her competency would make up for any grievances he might have with her tardiness. At least, she hoped he saw her as competent at any rate. Axel Hagane

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:Notewords | "Consider yourself lucky, you're not the sorry fucker that failed to show up. Surprised they even sent someone as a back up." With his arms remaining crossed and his voice staying hard and stoic, he shoved his self off the tree with his foot and started walking again, actually talking now that they weren't where someone could eavesdrop as easily. Unless they were a Sheikah.
They had a target to track, and Axel refused to let a target go. Twenty years of being a Blademaster sat on his belt, and he had the biggest reputation for being the meanest Yiga in the clan. Throwing anyone who stood in his way out of it and asserting his dominating presence. If he failed to track the target before sundown with a foot soldier behind him, that'd open up for rumors. He didn't need or want anymore than he had going about him. It was such a waste of time to quash the rumors too. "That fucker in a green scarf is is an accomplished weapons master." He grumbled out, head lolling back as he moved, both hands going up to run through his hair before looking back at Yara.
"If it's bad enough they really want a foot soldier to come with me, then I suppose I should make use of you and your gorilla." Axel finished, making his way off the beaten path and weaving through some undergrowth that covered some of the ground in a small patch of trees. When some Bokoblin noticed Axel moving, one of them made an aggressive babbling sound before calming down and looking through the dirt some, seeming to find a piece of fabric to bring it to him.
That piece of fabric was the scarf he was looking for. "You guys... stole his scarf." He huffed, looking at the monsters nodding enthusiastically. "Well. I don't want to be seen around you, so hurry the hell up. Which way did he go?" Axel commanded, not getting a real direct answer, but just getting some vague gestures in the direction they thought he went. Sighing, he looked to Yara. "Remember monsters are our allies. They may not be the smartest species, but consider them like a poorly trained hunting dog. Never question how, just go with it." He continued walking, lowering his voice once again. "Don't use big words with them either. They can't quite grasp everything we say, but they have a basic understanding."
With that, he faded off into silence as he walked. He may as well teach these foot soldiers something. Once again, he did want to see how much this one could grow.

Instinctually bristling at his grating words Yara clenched her fist tightly, her nails digging into her palm as she focused on the mild discomfort of the pain instead of being a smart ass and making a stupid snide comment. He was her superior after all and, regardless of if he was erroneous in his displacement of anger towards her, it would go even worse for her should she try to point out all the ways as to why he might be wrong. Unless she wanted her life to end abruptly. For what it was worth she had learned growing up that it was better to just accept the verbal displeasure in exchange for not receiving any bruises or more scars. She nodded in silent understanding her ears straining to pick up any sounds of a threat approaching. Ever since the night she traded any shred of humanity to Ganon her hearing had been drastically reduced, this was why Yara wore soft leather boots so she could still feel the earth beneath her. Where her hearing had slackened her sense of touch was much stronger. The vibrations through the earth allowed her to feel, even “see” more than her natural senses in their original state. Planting her feet firmly with each step she made sure to try and gather every ounce of information the earth would give to her. As they left the well-worn path Yare nodded in acknowledgement to his statement “We will strive to not disappoint,” her words carried their own disgruntlement and anger but it wasn’t directed at him so much as an inward focus on herself. She strove to be a more competent soldier and in doing so hoped to be granted the chance to prove her prowess as a commander of the training squadron. This was not a lofty ambition but she didn’t dare strive higher than she could reach…yet. Her feet picked up on the bokoblins well before she saw them but even earlier than the sound of their disgruntled chatter reaching her ears. Her body tensed upon seeing the green scarf and her eyes darted quickly around them as tried to pick up on any vibrations that were not currently identified. Her left hand ready to grab her sickle in an instant should the threat arise. As Axel shifted to look back at her, her eyes stopped scanning their surroundings to maintain eye contact with him to convey that he had her full attention. She resumed a more relaxed posture as she fell in line off to his outlying left. This was the formation she had learned to maximize her quick reflex as she drew her weapon, she was left handed and should they be attacked she would naturally go away from her center, in this case Axel, and cut down on the risk of ally fire. She was on guard aware that her performance here would not only impact the severity of any further punishment, but it also would impact Axel’s mission. She did not want this mission to fail and risk being the scape goat for any imperfection. It would not stand for the Blademaster to lose a target because of the negligence of a grunt foot soldier. What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:welp | Axel was always aware of his surroundings. The earth could shatter and crystallize to his whim, he owned it in a way. His other senses, simply honed over the years of surviving he's had to do since a young age were just the butter on the pancakes now. It's also thanks to these senses that Axel heard some movement a ways off. Drawing in a soft, quiet breath, Axel ducked behind a tree and lowered his self. It didn't sound like a fellow monster, and its steps were different.
Narrowing his eyes Axel spared Yara a quick glance before locking his eyes dead ahead once more, creeping forward, towards the sound. He was big, and it was hard for him to hide, but if he went slowly enough, he was quiet. Mot hadn't surfaced yet, but shadows were crawling around Axel's right hand. As he settled into another position, close to the sound, his hand hovered just above the ground as he peeked around a tree, eyes narrowing. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. As Axel ducked seamlessly into his hiding place Yara hesitated, but only briefly, and slipped behind the tree trunk to her left. Her heart was pounding knowing he was not only focused on the mission but also assessing her. She needed to prove herself capable. She let out a soft sight trying to cool her nerves, as her heart thrummed in her ears. She caught onto the vibrations in the dirt though they were faint. She might have to adapt to going barefoot to better train this new situation of hers. Hair prickling down her right arm she knew Jett was awake and ready for a fight. Shhhhhh now…not yet. Her anxiety and eagerness for a fight were transferring to him and he was eager. So very eager. She cursed her inability to see as it would not do to peer out from behind the tree. She carefully slipped off the leather shoe and let her toes bury into the earth beneath her. She sighed deeply and focused feeling the coolness of the earth and then the faint rhythmic vibrations of footsteps. Her left hand wrapped around the hilt of her weapon. For better or worse, she was ready. MADE BY VEL OF GS

As Axel peered around the tree he saw 2 men approaching, the leader had a variety of swords on their person and a bow on their back, he had a strong build and walked as if he had the most supreme confidence in his abilities. The second was of a slight and slender build, a single boomerang at their side. The rest of the other major features of this duo were obscured by traveling cloaks. The larger man in front had stepped on a twig a way back as they were half way off the path, they seemed to be walking urgently, speaking to one another in hushed voices. Yara notices the person in back is exceptionally light on their feet, she couldn’t sense them at all at first, but began to pick up on their subtle steps once they got closer. As the duo walks in front of the yiga’s hiding place the smaller man says, “It sure is a shame about what happened to your lucky green scarf boss, maybe we can pick up another in to-“. He is cut short as the leader calls out, drawing one of their many swords, “I’ve stalked enough roadways to sense an ambush before I walk into one, the gathering shadows give you away. Leave now and I’ll pretend you didn’t bother me.” The smaller man behind him assumes a martial stance, although their knees seem to be quivering a bit. “Do you think it’s another group of bandits trying to steal our goods?”
Bokoblins did good, they point right way. They serve Ganon well. Axel Hagane Yara

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:He ain't scared. | Axel had absolutely no intention in leaving. With no hesitation, those same gathering shadows in his hand slammed into the ground, a large bear soon rising out of the brush. Stepping out of the bush and dropping into his horse stance, Axel stomped the earth, shattering the ground beneath his feet and in front of him. He didn't say much, but the focus in his eyes spoke in loud enough volumes. He was undaunting and knew hesitation would kill him, so he had to keep the pressure on.
Without a word, as Axel stomped the ground, Mot took a silent order to charge from the flank, the large bear moving in for the larger male's side.
Axel's disguise also decided it was going to fuck off. His skin darkening, scars showing and ears shortening down to their scarred, rounded state. His eyes darkened from a bright blue and white to a dark emerald and a darkened sclera. His hair was no longer blonde, and if it wasn't obvious by the soft glowing emblem on his bear's flank, as well as it's monstrous features, this ambusher was a Yiga. And that sword on his back? Wasn't a great sword, it was a windcleaver. |
