Well, the rumors were certainly right. Lynels had begun to appear across the land again, more frequently and more bold. As their numbers seem to increase, the work load of warriors has increased to try and clean out the problem. And now in Akkala, a small group of warriors, about 3, crouch behind cover and watch the red-maned beast from afar. It's still young, nowhere near as powerful as it's older, silver and golden companions, but still a looming threat as it stomped about the land. This one in particular had been giving people around the Akkala region troubles, and requests have been left in towns and stables across this land. A Lynel is stomping and roaring around the Akkala highlands and it's getting too close to civilization.
- You have until Midnight PST January
14th 15th to join and plan. The fight starts then. Work together and have fun. - Afterwards, I'll kick off the Lynel. Everyone gets one post to do a thing in correspondence to what the Lynel does. There is no posting order unless you establish one among each other.

Boss Rush #1 / Akkala Lynel Idiot, idiot, idiot.
Just starting out, and you try this!? But even as he doubted himself, the black-haired farm-boy didn't reign in his mare, whom seemed rather uncomfortable carrying a human through the hilly area. The mare was new, having just been captured off the Fields. Hopefully, over time, she'd get more used to carrying him in areas that weren't flat as a spade.
He'd overheard some men talking over their tankards, about a beast that was part lion, part man, part horse, stomping around in Akkala. Apparently, there was an open call for warriors to come help fight it. Without thinking, he'd hopped aboard Beauty, spurring her in the direction of Akkala.
As he approached the Highlands, he reigned in the mare, rising up in his stirrups to scan his surroundings. He couldn't see the Lynel but...
Beauty reared and he had to lean forward to balance her out. She squealed and shied, and it took a rough hand to keep her from bolting.
he could definitely hear it.
He tied the Mare's reigns around a nearby tree-branch, making sure to leave them loose enough that, if she pulled hard enough, she could flee. At least then she'd be safe if something went after her. He'd seen horses stand in place after having him tie their reigns to a stick that broke off.
The black-haired lad followed the sound, finding a group of three warriors crouching behind some cover. He slunk down, making sure not to alert the Lynel, as he joined the warriors.

First Lurelin, and now... well, it could hardly be said that Lavi was comfortable with some of the goings-on across Hyrule nowadays. But then, he couldn't avoid the word floating around, nor indeed some remnants of what his parents had raised him with the intent of being. A warrior... a hero, even. Something he was certain he could never be... but he could help out, at least a little.
That, he supposed, was why he was even here right now.
For the start, at least, though, the Rito soared high above, far enough that he'd be effectively out of sight while his own eyes served him well spying on the ground far below. The creature didn't seem to be doing all that much -- at least, not yet -- but no doubt that would only last for so long. So, grumbling slightly to himself now his minor observations were done, he swooped along off to the side, making a point of timing his descent for when he doubted the large Lynel would notice him. This was a mistake... but it was one he'd now locked himself into.
"Th-there're... more coming... right...?" the rather obviously nerve-ridden avian quietly asked as he approached the four others here so far, though his eyes stuck mostly on the Lynel further off, making especially certain that it wasn't doing anything... yet, at least.

Post by Daruhan on Jan 10, 2018 7:37:47 GMT -8
Darhuan approaches the others cautiously, but with a wild excitement in his eyes. This was a chance to fight a Lynel, a perfect way to start his career. He could tell the others were nervous, and rightly so, even a lynel cub was a deadly foe. He knew it wouldn’t be long before the Lynel caught their scent, they had to get started planning right away if they were to get out of this in one piece, but the honor of facing this foe would be worth the scars.
“Greetings brothers”, he whispers as quietly as he can. “What’s the battle plan?”
Seeing none forthcoming, Daruhan ponders for a moment, it was clearly up to him to get these capable? fighters. (he looks at the boy with black hair that looked more apt to muck a pen than fight this beast). But this was what he had, he’d worked with worse.
“Given our group so far, I think it is best I try and get the beast’s attention.” He smiles proudly, “After all, im a goron, Im pretty sure I’ll be able to take the beating better than any of you.” “He looks around, “Are any of you skilled at healing? That would be a valuable skill to have for this fight.”
He turns to the Rito, “Rito how are you with a bow? An aerial bombardment would do wonders here, just be careful you don’t get hit by one of it’s arrows in return.”
He looks at the rest, “Whichever of you don’t have magic that you can use to support, fight as best you can but stay as safe as possible. This is a Lynel we’ll be fighting, not some bokoblin grunt. Keep to its flank, that’s where its least dangerous, but watch out if it tries to kick you.”
Daruhan peers over the rock for a moment to get another look at the beast before ducking back down. He stops, turns, and smiles widely, “By the way, I’m Daruhan. It will be a pleasure fighting this beast with you!” He laughs softly, trying to lighten the mood.

Boss Rush - Lynel The boy looked away from where he was studying the Lynel, seeing a blur of feathers. A Rito landed nearby, behind shelter as well. It... she... he? stammered nervously, and Sebastian smiled in an attempt at making him relax.
"I assume so." he whispered, not certain how well a Lynel could hear. It hadn't appeared to hear the Rito approaching, but he was rather certain that the feathers of a Rito were quieter than a human's voice, especially the cracking voice of a still-growing teen.
And not just the Rito, but a Goron. He could hear the heavy footsteps, and turned to look at the approaching rock-golem. He smiled at the Goron in return, muttering "Greetings," wincing as his voice cracked. "We... don't exactly have one yet."
He paid attention to the Goron's words, nodding. It sounded like a good plan. A Goron was like a walking, talking shield. And hopefully their Rito partner would be capable with a bow, it was common among their species.
His eyes widened as the other introduced himself, finally realizing why the Goron looked so family. It seemed like a lot of Gorons looked alike, and he'd put it up to that. But this was the Goron he'd gone into the forests with!

Zora

Post by Lelana on Jan 13, 2018 19:46:19 GMT -8
Lelana found herself in an Akkala village having been requested to render aid to those who had happened across a Lynel. It was uncommon for such brutes to venture into civilized territory, usually they kept to themselves in remote reaches of the kingdom. However, this one seemed to be striking its own colors and had apparently been wreaking havoc in the nearby villages and fields. This was not a threat to be taken lightly and needed to be dealt with quickly or risk the other monsters to conjure their own bravado and begin their own unique…complications.
Lelana was a slight Zora, she was considered to be one of the smallest of her people and instead of resembling the oceanic qualities she resembled more of the River Zora and fresh water features. The caudal extension of her head took a liking to the serene koi fish and her markings where a mottled vermillion and black offset by, what could only be described as a white base skin tone.
She was sure footed and silent as she smelled the beast before she either laid eyes or ears upon it. She also picked up the scent of a Rito, they were quite anxious it seemed, fear was a very telling and unique aroma. There was also the musky odor of burnt dirt and rock, a Goron she suspected. As she crested the hill she laid eyes upon the small troupe and saw the Hylian who belonged to the mare down the path. She heard the Goron inquiring about capabilities and healers. She waited for him to finish his tactical spiel and she smiled softly, he seemed quite adept for this task. “I am your healer” she whispered gently “I am also adept with a spear.” She looked at her companions “we seem like a well-rounded party we may stand a chance yet.”
Her eyes glimmered with excitement for the challenge ahead.

Daruhan turns to look at the new comer, her voice was soft and didn’t sound like it belonged on the battlef- A ZORA? What’s a zora doing so far away from the water? Wouldn’t they dry up or something? She seemed like she was doing ok though, maybe they didn’t need to be submerged in water all the time. Either way she said she could heal and could use a spear, those were both very useful things. Daruhan realizes he’s let his face fall into one of confusion and resets his face. Well, nobody could complain about the ethnic diversity of their little crew here.
Daruhan turns around again to look at the lynel, it wouldn’t be long now before they’d make their move. He turns back and crouches down to put his hands into the dirt, the cool mountain dirt moving its way up his lower arm and hardening into a rocky glove. A broad grin spreads over his face. That lynel wasn’t going to know what hit it.

Ah... apparently... there were others coming after all. The few that were already here before he arrived, a Goron, and a... Zora? A strange mix, to be certain... but he was hardly going to complain. Well, as long as they knew how to fight, at least...
"Me? I'm... good enough, at least. That is... I-I can still hit moving targets, and all," the cardinal-like Rito affirmed with a little nod, shifting his bow over his shoulder a little. And then there was that... a prize from helping Lurelin Village not burn completely to the ground. He'd even learned since to use a little healing magic, just as well... though for coming out and saying that, he preferred not to. Then they'd probably expect more of him, his attention would be split... he didn't want to be held responsible if something happened, ultimately. 'Strong' he was not, at least not mentally.
"I-I guess... I can move when it starts to, and try and support from above, then..."

The three behind the rock all seem more than impressed with the help that's come their way. But all the happiness can come to a screeching halt now, the Lynel has noticed the approaching party, especially the scent of a horse in the distance. It was well aware of the group's positioning and with one last roar, the beast pulled it's bow from it's back and knocked an arrow, the sounds of a small fire crackling as the tip of the arrow's fuse sizzled. Taking aim at the boulder the prey were hiding behind the Lynel fired the arrow next to the boulder as a warning, hooves pawing and stomping at the ground as it did so. The Mage and the Healer prepared themselves as the arrow shattered the ground next to them with a violent explosion, a startling first move from the Lynel. While it was young, it wasn't stupid it seemed. Lynels were well known for being well equipped with special arrows anyhow. The warrior on the other hand, came out from behind the boulder, feet moving through the broken earth with practice. He obviously knew what he was doing as he ran distraction for the moment, keeping his greatsword sheathed as he distracted the Lynel and it's bomb arrows to give the rest of a crew the chance to get out safely. He wouldn't be able to keep it up for long though with that armor, if he wears his self out early, it could end up bad for the rest of the team.
- Lavi Daruhan Lelana @sebastian
- d4 rolled 2, says his arrows are bomb arrows / d6 rolled 3, mage knows earth spells all the way up to (d4 = 3) Apprentice / Warrior is armed with a greatsword / Healer is light based and knows only Novice
- Weather is cloudy but tame for now. Thunder can be heard in the distance though, several seconds after the occasional flash on the horizon. A storm is on the sea's horizon.

Daruhan laughed loudly, bits of debris flying overhead from the recent explosion, this was perfect. A challenging foe that was well equipped. He also noticed the hylian in armor run out from behind the boulder to draw the beast’s attention, “BWAH HA HA! The courage of hylians never ceases to impress me” he gives Sebastian a meaningful look.
“Ok everybody, lets make the most of this opening to get into a good spot, it won’t last long. Stick to the plan but adapt if needed, we’re going to need to be flexible here.”
“Rito, to the air, and mind the potential fireworks! May your arrows strike true! The rest, split up going around the rocks and try to flank this beast as planned. Scatter yourselves until we can close so that the bombs are less effective. May Hylia watch over us all.”
He grabs his legs and tucks himself into a ball and begins to roll out from behind the boulder, weaving as much as he could, given the terrain and speed he was trying to reach. His goal was to arc around, hoping the brave hylian with the greatsword could keep the lynel’s attention until he had a chance to come in to attack the beast from an angle.
Assuming his success he was then going to pop out of his ball and punch the lynel, in the jaw preferably, with a stony fist. His plan was then to tuck again to continue rolling hopefully having gained the monster’s attention and having turn him away from the rest of the party to follow Daruhan. Hylia watch over them all indeed.
