Goron
|
Post by Daruhan on Jan 19, 2018 12:44:58 GMT -8
Daruhan took the blade to the chest and thanked Hylia for his Goron heritage, falling to one knee and catching himself. He knew that attack would have sliced a less sturdy being in two. Goron blood or no, it was spilling… and beginning to boil. He pushed himself back onto his feet, picking up the largest rock he can find that is close by and throws it at the back of the beast’s head.
“It’ll take more than that to stop me, Lynel! Death Mountain will run dry and freeze before a creature like you puts me low! But this! This is your last day, beast! Daruhan of the Gorons will see your end!” Then, in classically stubborn and slightly enraged goron fashion, charges the thing again if it isn’t already coming for him. Once getting close enough, he will attempt to duck and avoid as best he can any incoming attacks, throwing his harder back at the beast if he must for added protection. He knows he’s wounded and his reaction will be slowed a bit because of that damage. He wasn’t going to back down though, he couldn’t, that damned cat horse had pissed him off and it would know the strength of his fist before this fight was over. He knew he should probably go to see a healer for some help soon too, but he wouldn’t run the risk of any of the others taking a blow like he just had. Besides, he had to set a good example of goron strength and endurance for all his smaller brothers here. At least the zora was fast, even out of the water, but the lynel would surely account for that next time and pull some stunt to catch her if she wasn’t careful.

Lelana’s skin crawled with the hum of electricity; she had very limited time before her steel spear was off limits so she had better make the most of it while she had the ability. She would have insisted the Goron sit down for a moment for her to close the wound a bit; however, as was the legendary stubbornness of the Goron, he was off again leaving a trail of crimson blood. She smirked softly surprised it wasn’t small gravel and dust.
Assessing the situation Lelana sprang into action darting to her spear that was discarded and still hungry for lynel blood. Her goal was to get a mild air vantage point by using the Goron’s height to her benefit. Once she had her spear in hand she was to quickly and aptly scale the Goron’s back before he was back into melee with the lynel and take a diagonal shot at the lynel’s exposed back and flanks.
Her hand grabbed the spear as she expertly used the moisture on the ground to slid a short distance to catch up to the Goron and then allow her to launch herself in her momentum onto his back and scale to his left shoulder. “Don’t stop,” she yelled over his bellows. Lelana was able to grasp onto his rock shell with her right hand as she hefted her spear towards her target. The electricity was humming being attracted to her steel, at the precise moment before the Goron engaged with the lynel she vaulted the spear towards the lynel’s back and without taking a second glance she dismounted the Goron as he entered into the fray within the immediate vicinity of the monster. She landed next to the brilliantly red, yet quite soaked Rito who looked just about as pleased with the rain as she was with the lightening.
She was encouraged to not be armed with more steel, as her daggers blade was of a finely polished obsidian. There wasn’t much more she could do until the melee broke apart again. Her next shot would require her to be on the lynel, her only recourse was to try to bury her daggers blade within the lynels ribs or another available vulnerability.

Sebastian smirked as the Lynel began to charge his way, hoping he was hiding the nerves racing in his chest. This could go very, very badly.
The farm boy took a deep breath, timing as best he could. It was just like mounting a horse. A big, furious horse. The Goron launched another attack. The Lynel grew nearer, Sebastian drew his bow. The Zora launched her spear, and Sebastian waited until it had landed before leaping, seeing sparks dancing along the spear.
He fired his bow at the Lynel's chest before jumping off the boulder, hoping to distract it, using as much of his strength as he could to try and clear the Lynel's head. The farm-boy twisted, aiming to land on the Lynel's back, but if he didn't, he would land so as to roll out of the way of its crushing hooves.

A few mistakes were made and a few things worked well. Lavi's arrow successfully bit into the back of the Lynel's Sword arm, and while it didn't stop the swing, it was successful in weakening it's grip. It wasn't down, but both of it's shoulders now bore an injury. The gash on it's side bled profusely with each deep breath, blood flow betraying the monster's heart beat. The stab wound in it's chest now had a matching one in it's back, the metal biting through it's tough hide and into a tender spot. His back was flaring in pain, and he heard that annoying rock man charging him once again. With a pained and infuriated roar, the Lynel kicked backwards, planting both hooves into the large rock man's chest and pushing off, hopping forward a bit. The tone of the roar and the posture of the beast betrayed how overwhelmed he was, but he wasn't finished. While the air began to fill with electricity the Lynel, deciding that it's sword was now a danger to it, got a little smarter. The great Thunderblade was thrown, cleaving into the ground between the healer and mage, the shield was thrown in one direction and the heavy, oversized bow was thrown in another, all crackling, creating an even larger zone for lightning to be attracted to. The Hylian bit his blade into the Lynel one more time before he had to give up and back off, removing his self from the fight to make sure he wasn't going to pose a risk to striking the other team mates with lightning drawn to his own blade. Meanwhile, he took his armor off and left it at the foot of a tree, reducing how much electricity he was drawing. The mage and the Healer both sprinted away from the blade, but just in time to avoid a lightning strike, the ground next to the blade exploding with a blinding flash. Sebastian on the other hand, may have landed on the back of the Lynel, but as with every horse, the bigger it is, the harder it bucks. And Sebastian was just a Hylian. A light weight creature to this Lynel Cub. With a muscular leap and twist, the Lynel spun itself with a few heavy bucks before suddenly changing direction, launching the Hylian off. But the stress put on it from that was doing it in. Blood loss was dealing a considerable amount of damage.
- @sebastian - Moderate Muscular/skeletal Damage. Choose the damage according to how your character handles being thrown so high. (Broken bone/pulled muscles or tendons/Fractured bone/etc.) / Lavi / Daruhan Moderate Blunt force Damage | Moderate Open Wound / Lelana
- Storm is here. Lightning strikes will become more frequent. Lightning Zoning area has increased. Lightning struck the great Thunderblade. Weapon is now damaged

"Ack!" Lavi jumped in surprise to the sudden lightning shock into the blade that had buried itself into the ground a little ways off. Clicking his beak in nervousness, the Rito glanced briefly down to his own bow, and arrows. Barely enough metal on the bow to attract much attention from the storm, he mused... and the arrows were nice and safe in the leather quiver, so that shouldn't be a worry. Still... he didn't like any of this, and his own options were very much depleting.
"Just... j-just a bit more!" the Rito called out through the rain, his feathers so uncomfortably soaked that it was even getting a little harder for him to move. Still... he couldn't ignore the fact that the Lynel was weakening, and far more defenseless than previously now that all its weaponry, even its shield, was gone. Grumbling to himself, he darted forward, a bit closer to the melee -- not a great place for a Rito like him to be, he was far from unaware -- keeping just enough distance that he could quickly fire off one more arrow with reasonable confidence that it'd make it through the rain... this time aiming for the head directly. If he could finish this quickly... then maybe, but he wasn't expecting all that much as his arrow sailed.

The Lynel was bleeding profusely, and Sebastian bit back a grin. The Rito's arrow had pierced its sword arm, and it looked like it was beginning to slow. The Lynel kicked the Goron, and the farm boy cringed, but thankfully it didn't seem to be too strong of a kick.
The beast tossed its weapons this way and that, the metal beginning to spark. He grimaced; those would be dangerous once it truly began to storm.
Landing atop the Lynel, the Hylian was startled by a crash of lightning, his hands slipping. He attempted to reach for his blade, but the Lynel Cub was faster, bucking and tossing this way and that. He was used to riding bucking horses, but never had he had to ride one so large, and he struggled to get a grip.
Finally, he was unseated, flung off the Lyne's back. Something in his leg snapped as he landed on it, and he rolled head over heels a few times before coming to a stop. After a moment, he reoriented himself, staggering into a crouch. His leg was hurting; either he'd fractured something, or pulled something.
The Hylians sword was sparking on his back, and he looked at it for a moment, then towards the Lynel. He was crouched behind it, thankfully out of reach of its hooves, so he took hold of his sword and, aiming carefully, threw it, hoping to make it land between the Lynel's four legs.
That done, he twisted to duck behind a nearby rock, drawing his wooden bow and nocking an arrow. He aimed for the back of the Lynel's head, before releasing the arrow.

Goron
|
Post by Daruhan on Jan 20, 2018 15:23:44 GMT -8
The goron took the hooves to the chest, he probably should have thought that one through a bit more thoroughly. Because of his mistake his friend was badly injured. He had to make this right. He was surprised for a moment when the zora jumped on him, however she was rather light, so it didn’t impede him too much, but he was glad still that she had jumped back off again. He didn’t want her becoming injured by being around him.
Once Daruhan regained his balance he shook his head and beat his chest, “HA! I’ve been kicked harder by an Eldin Ostrich! Your strength is failing you, beast.” His was too, but he couldn’t let that show right now. There was work to be done! He could rest when it was over. He rolls over to the great thunderblade that the monster just threw at his mage friends, he had to get this away from them, decrease the places the lightning could strike. He picks it up in one of his large hands and starts to get a running start back towards the monster.
After taking a few steps, Daruhan throws the blade at the monster. The added speed should make up for whatever power he was currently lacking. A part of him really hoped the blade survived this fight, he would want to try and repair it… if he even could. It was a thing of beauty to be sure. He could worry more about it after they defeated the monster if it was still any good then. Lightning tended to ruin good metal blades. After he makes his throw he slows down and assumes a defensive stance.

Lelana had to dodge as the heavy metal bow landed where she once stood. This was and even worse situation now that the lynel had increased the lightening radius around him. She grabbed the bow and spun it away over the rocks, away from the mayhem. At least over there it wouldn’t pose as much of a threat, then she promptly jumped onto the rocks hoping to skirt around until she could get to the injured hylian.
Once she reached him, she stayed out of his shot and pulled her own bow, cocking it at the fading beast. It would fall…and soon

The monster may have been sufficiently disarmed, but it wouldn't go down without a hell of a fight. The Hylian, yes, got another deep biting cut into the beast, leaving two metal items sticking out of it's body which were now sparking furiously, but he was also snatched up by the back of his shirt. With what good arm was left, the Lynel gave one large twirl and flung the Hylian warrior across the fields. While the Hylian tumbled and crumbled to the ground from the force of the throw, his injuries resurfacing, the Lynel pawed the ground and turned to Daruhan, prepared to give the Goron a violent smack. But before he could swing, lightning came down and struck the Lynel with a violent explosion, bringing the monster to one knee. Seconds later, another lightning strike hit him. While he threw his weapons to create a bigger range for lightning to go, he was still the tallest thing on the field, and wasn't quite as collected as his elders to have the battle sense to stay calm and keep metal removed. Falling to his side with a thud and groan, the Lynel struggled for a bit, chest heaving with it's final breaths before falling still. Lightning struck and obliterated his gear, leaving nothing but smoking fragments in it's place, untouchable and practically brittle thanks to the strikes. The healer and mage rushed to the Hylian's side to check on him and started moving him to cover where they retrieved their gear and started setting up a wooden tent, laying treated hide over the top of it to keep as much water out as possible. The storm was blowing through quickly, and the horizon could be spotted peeking out of the rain clouds, signs of a sunset bleeding brilliants purples and oranges. The rain wasn't quite a downpour anymore, but it was still coming, the lightning having ceased after the Lynel fell, almost as if Hylia was giving the heroes a break.
- @sebastian Moderate skeletal damage it is / Lelana / Lavi / Daruhan Moderate Blunt force Damage | Moderate Open Wound
- Hylian takes flight. Becomes Rito. Severely injured.
- Lynel has fallen. Post recovery and afterwards I'll roll your guy's reward.

Ah... it was... finally over. And he was tired... not so much from all the moving around, which he'd only been able to do so much of, but more so the stress, and using up a nice chunk of his magical power. Exhaling a heavy sigh after he watched the Lynel finally fall, Lavi finally slipped his bow back over his shoulder, glancing back to where some of the Hylians had retreated and were setting up a tent before looking over to the Hylian, Goron, and Zora otherwise... all of whom were definitely hurt more than him, though perhaps that wasn't saying much since he'd never gone into melee range of the beast.
"Erm... y-you said... you were a healer, right...?" the Rito asked, his eyes falling on the Zora. "I can... help with that, at least a little... I have some magic left for it, at least..." he offered. Well, he couldn't just leave, anyway... and that, he supposed, was the best he could otherwise do now. "Ah... and I can cook something up for everyone, if there's... enough around to gather..."
