Hunting for a Wolfos Partner This was not his best idea.
The former farmer's boy had heard tale of packs of Wolfos that could be found in the forests of the Western Maw, and had gotten it into his head to try and tame one. Back on the farm, some of his best animals had been the dogs, and they'd been damn useful, too. Not only just providing companionship, but herding the animals, helping out with the hunting and butchering, and protecting the farm. Now, double their size and make them walk like a human? Hell yeah!
But now, he wasn't so sure. Yes, he'd left to become an adventurer. Yes, he had a bow, arrows, and sword. But no, he was not terribly experienced. Which was why he found himself sitting atop Blackbird, the horse pulled to a stop, at the entrance of the forest. He reached up to fiddle with his hood, hiding his dark colored hair and throwing his young face into shadow.

It was a lovely day, although the light was starting to fade, Daruhan would need to find a place to stop for the night soon though. He hoped he could make it to the Highland Stables before night fell, if he kept up he should be able to make it. But what was this?
As he was rolling along he saw a long figure on horseback seeming like they were going to head into the woods. Daruhan stopped rolling for a moment, as to not startle the person, and get a good look of them before approaching. Entering the forest at dusk was risky business. Wolfos were incredibly active at night in these woods.
Upon approaching the figure, Daruhan could tell the rider would be in trouble if they entered the woods alone. These woods were called the Minshi woods, and if one wandered too deep they would make their way into the Lost Woods. Daruhan often gazed from the heights of Death Mountain and wondered what sort of horrors lurked within that forest. They say all those who wander in become lost and turn into stalfos. From what he’d read though, the Minshi Woods would be fine so long as that’s as far in as they went.
“Hail Brother, if I may be so bold. What business would you have in the woods at this time. The sun sets soon and the woods will be crawling with wolfos.”

Hunting for a Wolfos Partner Sebastian frowned as Blackbird spooked, head swinging up and tugging at her reins, her ears perked up with interest. He soothed the black mare with pats and a soft word, drawing his blade as he turned to see what had startled her so.
There was a Goron approaching, tucked in on itself and rolling his way. He prepared to nudge the mare out of the way if it looked like the Goron wasn't going to stop in time. But, thankfully, it stopped before it could come close to colision, and he turned the mare to face the Goron. "Good day!" he called with his twanging accent. "I rather hope it will be. I've come to the woods in search of a Wolfos to tame."

Daruhan eyes the boy, his body seemed strong, he’d obviously done some work in his life, but he could tell in his eyes he’d never seen a real fight. Having a bow to hunt with was one thing, but it’s another entirely to fight something intent upon killing you.
“Boy, I need to speak plainly with you. If you were to find wolfos in these woods it would likely be your end if you went in alone. If you’re hoping to tame such a beast you should know they rarely travel alone, assuming you’re hunting the kind that still walk like wolves.” Daruhan’s face becomes dower with these words, but suddenly brightens up. “That’s why I am coming with you.”
He eyes the lad again. “Do you at least know where to find the beasts?”

The boy cocked his head as the rock-man eyed him, seeming to look him over. Obviously the man didn't have it in mind to attack him, so he sheathed his blade, but kept his hand close to his blade in case he had to draw it. Even if the man seemed peaceful now, that didn't mean he wouldn't suddenly turn up, or a monster wouldn't appear.
He frowned briefly as the Goron spoke, but inclined his head. He knew the Goron was right, he knew it was a bad idea to take the Wolfos on alone, but he hadn't thought he could find a partner to help him, or who would be willing to.
The young man's eyebrows rose, and he echoed, "You are?"
He frowned at the Goron's question. "I assume they'd be deeper into the woods, where hunting would be better."

Daruhan shakes his head, “How silly of me", he looks up at the boy on his horse, smiling ear to ear, “My name is Daruhan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” “What may I call you?”
Daruhan nodded, “That would make most sense, the wolfos would want to stick to where the hunting would be best. And while they aren’t off the menu, travelers on the road tend to be a bit too risky game.”
This was going well, Daruhan thought to himself. He could actually do something good here. A wolfos wasn’t as big of a threat as a dodongo, but a pack of them could prove challenging.
“Well” He says turning his head to the sprawling trees before them then turning back to the traveler. “Let’s get started, this is prime hunting time for wolfos.” He pauses for a moment. “Speaking of which you might want to leave your horse here… You don’t strike me as the type to use that kind of bait”

The boy's reddish eyes widened, and he shook his head, realizing he'd forgotten his manners. "My apologies, I've forgotten my manners." he drawled. "My name is Sebastian, it's a pleasure to meet you Daruhan."
The boy grinned, happy to know that he'd likely been right. He'd dealt with Wolfos so many times, where they'd tried to steal away livestock, so he had a feeling he'd know where to find them. At least, he knew what their sounds sounded like, and what their footprints looked like.
"Alright then." the farm boy nodded, dismounting. He frowned at the other's jab, wrapping the mare's reins around her saddlehorn so that she wouldn't trip on them. "Don't wander far, but run if something tries to get you, go ahead." he told the mare, and she whickered as he patted her neck, lowering her head to graze.
"I'm ready if you are." he prepped his bow, allowing an arrow to rest in the notch, ready to be launched if need be.

The sun set and howls seemed to echo all about the maw of Death Mountain. It almost seemed as if the all the wolves had just decided they were going to hunt in this part of Hyrule today. Among the howling though, there was one very distinct and powerful howl that rose above all of them when it did sound off, it even silenced a few for a moment. The ominous cry echoed for a moment and everything grew silent, a pack of standard wolves prowling out of the tree line, towards the human and the Goron. Behind them, the underbrush seemed to move out of the way as a Wolfos jumped through it, eyes trained on the human that smelled of horse. That doesn't mean it didn't glance at the goron every now and then, but for now, it stayed behind the pack of wolves, seeming to debate on which way to run and see if it can't get a flank in. A popular trick for this species.

Daruhan takes a deep breath, this was a bit more than he had bargained for. This pack was huge, what was it, he peers around at the prowling wolves, right around 10 of the things. He assumed that is what happens when a pack has a strong alpha to gather them.
He shoves his fist into the ground, calling upon the earth to grant him strength. The dirt flows up his arm to his elbow and become rock hard before he removes his hand. “Be on your guard little guy, Wolfos like to strike from behind if they can get away with it. Focus on him, I’ll try to distract the rest of the pack. Let’s see what you can do!”
Daruhan assumes a defensive stance in front of Sebastian, arms spread wide, and lets out a vicious bellow to attempt to make a couple of the wolves balk in their attack. Let them come, Daruhan was ready.

Hunting for a Wolfos Partner The young boy looked around, eyes piercing into the woods. He could hear something moving, but wasn't certain what it was. The animals' footsteps were quieted by the thick leaf padding on the ground.
His assumptions were proven correct at the sounds of howling, scanning where he thought they were coming from. A chill ran down his spine at a howl that stood out, although he knew what it was, and he grinned softly. His first go, and they'd found a Wolfos!
The farm-boy dropped into a battle-ready position as he drew his blade, seeing the wolves skulking out of the treeline. However, he smirked as a Wolfos appeared, seeming to focus on him.
The Goron drew his attention, and he nodded. "Got it!" As the Goron began to bellow, the boy sheathed his blade, and drew his bow, nocking an arrow and aiming at the Wolfos' eye, letting the arrow fly.
