Sparing just a moment to go collect what his new friend had brought him and trying to scratch him behind the ear, “Hey, that’s good of you. Thanks!”
Daruhan gets back up and looks around for what was causing the wolfos the discomfort earlier. But also has an eye out to see if he can find any spots where he might find more delicious rocks. This was the right part of the mountain for sirloin after all.

The Wolfos stopped and froze for a moment, eyes watching the hand nearing his head warily. He couldn't see where it was going, opening and closing his mouth slowly, he stopped his self from clapping his jaw in warning when the hand that disappeared suddenly made his head cock to the side and his back leg kick a little. When the scratches stopped, the Wolfos turned and started walking, nose sniffing the ground diligently as he trotted next to the lake. He'd lead the way for you, but would eventually come to a sudden stop near one of the other, larger lava pools of Lake Darman. Ears folding back, the Wolf's hackles raised where the could and he started growling. He wouldn't go nearer to the lake, in fact, he wouldn't move at all, he'd just stand there and growl. Around you, the sound of rocks rolling could be heard.

Following the wolfos with a paranoid curiosity they made it to Lake Darman. There was a good spot for food mining nearby. They would have to go hit that up after they dealt with whatever was causing this reaction in his partner. The sound of rumbling rocks reverberated from everywhere. What was causing this? Daruhan went through the list of possibilities in his head, none of them very good things to run into. Whatever it was, if it was coming this way, he would be in for the fight of his life. He was ready.

The Wolfos's head turned this way and that, his eyes on the lake and on where the sounds of rocks were falling from. With a low growl, flames puffing out of his jowls, a younger Wolfos jumped from the lava, hackles raised, growling. From the same lava, several more wolfos jumped out and sat down, as if to watch what was about to go down. To your other side though, a large, armored head peeks over the top of the rocks. Slowly, it climbed it's way over them and it's eyes immediately locked onto the Goron it had smelled. Hey a free snack. The Dongorongo let out a low, hungry growl at the sight of you, licking it's chops while it finished making it's way up, tail swatting rocks out of the way with ease as he moved into position.
- Your buddy is busy with his old Vol. Wolfos Pack. Dongorongo popped up shortly after and he's hungry y'know Daruhan

Yelling to the Wolfos pack, “Can’t you two settle your pride match at a more opportune time? We’re all on the dinnerplate here! Hylia damn their timing…”
Daruhan had read about these, they were an apex predator of these mountains. But they weren’t without their weaknesses. He wished he had some explosives on him, they would make this so much easier. Quickly peering out around the dongorongo he looks for any off-color crystals, these would be weak points in its structure. Finding no immediately obvious ones, Daruhan would just have to do what he could for now. Slamming his fists down onto the volcanic terrain, “The world around you shatters, beast, and every misplaced stone is a weapon against you!” he was casting crystalline burst, targeting the dongorongo’s not-as-protected underside. Daruhan would then tuck into a ball, keeping an eye on how his friend did, and especially on the large red death lizard that thought he looked like a snack. These last few days had been one hell of a minecart ride.
I'm not a snack... Casting Crystalline Burst at the damned thing's underbelly Daxton

Sadly, kujo here has other plans. The wolfos are far from afraid of the Dongorongo, it poses little threat to the creatures that literally spend their lives in and around lava. Vicious snarling between the two turns into a full on fight, both of the wide mawed monsters going for each other's throats before wrestling each other into the nearby lake. The dongorongo on the other hand, still thought you well enough as a snack. The crystals hurt the beast, but just a bit, not enough to really irritate it. The plates on it's back where there and still strong as it stomped around. Taking in a sharp breath though, the beast released a fireball towards your rolling form before putting it's head down, trying to stay facing you to brace for impact. With legs like his, he couldn't turn too fast.

Sighing, then letting it turn into a roar, Daruhan drops into a ball to get away from the fireball and get to the beast’s side. He would have to mount this monster if he was to defeat it. Its weakness was on its back, he had to remove those armor plates so he could take it down. He had to end the fight with the dongorongo quickly. His wolfos friend needed his help. He would roll around the beast to look for a good spot to start his climb. Why was everything so set against him getting a good, homecooked, meal?

The Dongorongo continued trying to keep up rotating to follow you with it's short legs. Eventually though, from built up frustration, the beast would draw another breath, but this time, let it out in a stream of flames, changing the direction it was rotating to try and get you to stop rolling around. He couldn't focus on a charge with the Goron rolling around him like he was! Getting onto the Dongorongo's back seemed like a good idea in your head, but there were very few ways for a Goron to effectively get onto a beast's back, especially when it was this big. Everyone knows Goron can't jump unless they're rolling up a ramp. All the rocks of this part of Death Mountain were spires pointing towards the crater, all the rest were too close to the lava for safety. You could try using one as a ramp, but that runs high risk of rolling off the edge or ending up somewhere you didn't want to be, injured. But you were rolling, and you were a lot of weight rolling. The Dongorongo is fully aware of this as well, and he's trying to stop from letting you get near his flanks the best he can.

Getting a better look at the beast he couldn’t find any good spots to start a climb. Rolling off a spire to get on it could work, but that would risk falling into the lava, and he didn’t want that. Gorons could handle high heat, but lava was a bit much. He’d have to change his strategy. The beast changed direction, perfect. Daruhan stopped his rolling around it and, swifly as he could, changed directions towards the beast’s side. He had a lot of weight, lets throw it around and try to flip the damned thing. For a least a moment then the creature’s underbelly would be exposed. If he succeeded he’d pop out of his ball and start wailing on the beast. Hell, even if he didn’t he’s start swinging. He was pretty sure he could stick to the beast’s side, tucking and rolling to keep away as needed.

And succeed you did. As you slammed into the creature's side, it collapsed back with a frustrated roar. Arms and legs flailing while it's body twisted, struggling to try and get a grip on something to pull itself into an upright position. It's tough hide on it's underbelly though wasn't too bothered by your punches. It more over felt like it was dragging it's belly along the rocks. Continuing to struggle, the flailing evolved into thrashing, the creature seriously putting up a fight to get back onto it's legs. And it was almost there.
