What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ | Axel hadn't spoken much to anybody when he was recovering, but luckily, the only person ballsy enough to disturb the injured bear practically forced him to rest with demands. Thanks to the rest though, and the help of (he hates to admit it though) one of the other blademasters that knew a touch of healing, he was back on his feet in a reasonable amount of time. The new scars on his legs were still something he could feel every now and then, especially as he climbed up one of the trees in the jungle to snatch some bananas, jumping down to the ground with a heavy thud.
Sitting against a tree, Axel peeled a banana and held it for Mot where he could eat it. Bears may have liked meat, but they enjoyed an occasional fruit from time to time. While he held the banana for Mot to eat, he used his own teeth to open another banana, taking a bite and chewing slowly. For what he was going to be doing today, Axel was dressed very differently. The jungle was wet and humid, and he was going to be in trees quite a bit. His pants were rolled up, his shirt was off and so were his boots. He had an idea for training, and if Yara bitched out and didn't show up. He'd find her later.
If she bitched out after the lecture, he'd find her. But even if she didn't show or bitched out, he was going to get in some much needed exercise. What minimal he was allowed to do in the hideout drove him crazy. He need to climb and run, to swing around and go places most would either a, be too afraid to go to, or b, wouldn't be able to reach. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yara let out a gasp grabbing onto a tree as she tried to catch her breath, her sides both ached reminding her of the symmetrical scars on either side of her stomach. One was a wide spear wound that was on the back end of the major flesh mending this was on her left side. The other was freshers and the edges of the wound still puckered with bright new flesh. It had been a few weeks since she had been out of the hide out doing the mundane grunt work. Axel hadn’t said a word to her since she had fucked up with Jett. Up until a few hours ago anyway when he had suddenly appeared as she was elbow deep cleaning out one of the lavatories. All he had said was “Faron Jungle” and then had left. No other specifics, no other orders. Not a Ganon damned thing. But again, she found herself shoving her pack full of a backup set of armor, a medkit, and other essentials. She had tied her hair up into a ponytail, rolled up her pant legs, and pulled on a modified armor top that had no sleeves. Everything would hold into place. She had teleported herself, to who fucking knows where in the middle of a forsaken jungle, due to her lack of wayfaring bearings, and she had realized not knowing where Axel was going to be exactly, she had to run. She ran probably from one side of the jungle to the next and had not found any inclination to the where he might be. She huffed sitting down for a moment and leaned her head against the trunk of the tree. Jett was dying to come out and roam the jungle…also he was insistent about banana’s, he could smell them through her senses and it was driving him…well banana’s. She sighed releasing his shadows and he bolted out excitedly making the earth shake beneath her. Wait a second that wasn’t a thud large enough to fit what Jett was doing. She focused again burying her feet into the earth and her hands. “Stop it Jett!” she said urgently. There it was again, except it was more plodding and heavy. The gait was familiar enough to her and she grinned “Let’s go find Mot,” she said standing up looking at Jett. “I’ll race you,” she challenged and darted off into the trees. Jett followed behind her catching up quickly. She could feel his exhilaration to finally break loose again after recovering from his injuries. He charged off ahead of her having caught onto the scent of Axel and Mot.
Damnit!

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:YaraI guess elephant in the jungle. technically >> | Axel heard the sounds of something coming towards him, but as Mot sniffed the air and didn't do anything, he could only assume it was Yara and Jett. Wordlessly, Axel took the other bunch of bananas he had plucked from the tree and held them out towards the gorilla charging towards them. There was no doubt that the Gorilla could probably pick up on the smell of freshly peeled bananas.
His expression was flat as he chewed slowly on his own banana, Mot letting out a yawn as well as they waited. He wouldn't speak up just yet, he'd wait till Yara got there and said something first. He didn't like to be kept waiting, she was lucky he found some bananas to help pass the time. So he was in a slightly better mood now, especially to hear that Jett was doing better by the sounds of crashing. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. Jett had charged ahead so far that Yara couldn’t keep up so she paused long enough to focus on her barreling familiar and attempted to teleport to him. Now, normally this would have been a good idea, however, trying to hit a moving target while teleporting was a rookie mistake she would make once until she was more adept with such things. He pulled her through the portal (thing I guess) she had opened and this functioned as a sling shot. When Jett did come to a halt she flung back like a rubber band. The scene played out as such; Jett bursting through the undergrowth wrapping his arms around the bananas came to his own sudden halt in front of Mot just in time to prevent smashing into the bear. Whilst Yara popped out of her teleport in a very ungraceful jumble of limbs, curses, and foliage and skidded into Jett’s back. He disregarded her as he tore into his bunch of bananas that had been presented to him. She groaned as she stood up already looking roughed up and worse for wear. Her eyes rested on Mot who looked exceedingly sluggish and bored out of his mind. That didn’t bode well because that meant she had kept them both waiting which probably meant that whatever the purpose was for her to be out here was going to be exponentially more difficult. When she turned around, eyes scanning for Axel, her shoulders visibly drooped under the weight of his deadpan stare. She had, had more than enough time to sulk, stew, vent, and rage about their last exchange and the fuck up that had preceded it. The rationalization she had come to was simple; swallow her pride and accept his rebuke and memorize the lesson. “I know it’s probably no good,” she started uneasily “there’s only so many ways one can fuck up and I have done probably one of the worst.” She looked back at Jett who was blissfully unaware of his master’s trepidation. “Then I failed to accept your retribution and that is unacceptable,” she rattled on and caught herself “In short,” deep inhale “I fucked up and I deeply regret my actions” She could hardly maintain eye contact with him, making slight glances and then looking back down at her bare feet. She didn’t have the confidence to maintain his intense gaze, especially when having to address a point of immense shame and disgrace.
She wasn't groveling though, she had determined if he dismissed her she had earned that, no this was a genuine apology after nights laying in her bunk tearing herself apart. Axel Hagane # # # - notes: how about the gorilla in the jungle? MADE BY VEL OF GS

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:Yaraayy that works too | Axel had sat up after Jett took the bananas, pushing his self to his own stand while, without fear, he ruffled the top of Jett's head. He didn't look at Yara while she spoke, instead, he observed the condition of Yara's partner, the one that yes, while it's his job to take blows and protect, should also be protected by the owner in turn. It was a relationship and a bond that they were born into and had no choice in the matter and Axel was incredibly forward with everyone how it's important to take care of the companion.
While they may love their masters from the get go, If the master died, the familiar would die as well, but for as long as the master lived, the bond would stay and it could be forged to something even greater. His own Mot and the Master's Fukushu were living examples of this bond. Axel and Mot so close together that they could communicate without words when needed. Once Yara was done, Axel took about a minute or so to finish another banana before looking at her, face still stoic and unreadable.
Deep down inside, he could feel his rage boil, but he ignored it for now. "You need to learn to keep your cool in combat." He started, leaning against the tree. "Which is sadly something you'll have to learn on your own time." He stated, discarding the banana peel to the side. "Both you and Jett need some work. And after what I saw." He pushed his self off the tree and stretched a little, popping his joints and back. "Jett is going to get some agility training."
Waving his hand, he dismissed the yawning bear and turned to face the tree. Without a soft grunt, he climbed up the tree and stood on a top branch in no time, foot hanging off loosely as he stared down at both the Gorilla eating his bananas and Yara. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. He was not, she had learned from observation, the sort of person to hold back his rage. She reminded herself she would have to tread a fine line between his anger and his patience. If it was really even patience. She would have to find a way to keep her mind clear and free of the emotional garbage that flew up into it, she had to treat interacting with her teacher as its own kind of battle, a battle to prove herself worth something more than just a foot soldier that had only been in the clan for less than a year. She recalled back to days of grueling work in the fields and nights hiding in fear of what might happen to her. She also remembered the relentless lashings and beatings. How had she managed to survive through those times? It all seemed like a faint dream now, that blank space she would enter in to drown out the pain and loneliness. Why now was she being such an emotional whelp? Su’ri certainly hadn’t been gentle with her but neither had she been one to inflict pain. It must have been rooted in Yara opening up and being vulnerable to someone finally and now all of the pain of twenty-two years of feeling out of place and abused were welling to the surface. The man before her demanded excellence and resolve, not just in combat, but to emotional handling. Because he didn’t acknowledge it himself it and it was expected of his pupil to do as well. Emotions were clutter and cumbersome and clouded the mind. The earth was solid and unrelenting in its pressure. She would need to adapt and be the same. Clenching her fists, she turned to face him, if he was talking about more training then he wasn’t giving up on her, no matter how angry she had made him. This was—new. She didn’t know how to process that at the moment so she shoved it away to contemplate later. Yara scrambled up the tree after Axel, less gracefully than her master, but eventually found her footing on one of the lower hanging branches that was sturdier than the rest. She felt naked having her feet off the ground though and wasn’t fond of the feeling of being at a disadvantage. She whistled to Jett to signal his attention. Finishing his last banana, Jett stood on the ground raising himself on his hind legs to get a look at the pair in the tree. MADE BY VEL OF GS

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ | Axel stared at the gorilla standing beneath them and raised an eyebrow. If he didn't come up to meet them instantly, a little incentive always worked. "If you can keep up with me." Axel stepped towards the edge of the thick branch. "I'll make you a big bowl of banana pudding, all for yourself."
His feet stepped backwards softly, and if Jett came up the tree, Axel would jump towards the next nearest branch, using vines as they hung everywhere to help maneuver his large form around the dense canopy. He'd stay on his toes, watching the Gorilla to see if he could handle such a task as jumping onto a branch, as a cautionary measure, he stepped onto another branch, so he wouldn't be putting anymore weight on the one Jett would probably have to land on. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yara watched the exchange between the two males with curiosity. Jett was a fully grown male gorilla so this wouldn’t be a new task to him; it was more a matter of enticement and training the gorilla to be more adept. Come on Jett, race me to the top she challenged her companion again. It just happened to coincide with Axel bribing him with his own bowl of banana pudding. Both the challenge and the bribe was incentive to Jett to engage and begin to climb up the trunk of the tree until he reached the branch below Axel. At the point Yara was still scrambling behind him. She was not as skilled of a tree climber as either of the two males and she felt extremely out of place without her feet on the ground. The bark was course and uncomfortable but it was easier for her to grip with her toes than it probably would have been with her boots. Jett perched heavily on the branch looking at Axel expectantly and eagerly, he felt Yara’s awkwardness but he was not inclined to aid her. She was capable and would handle herself. Besides banana’s and beating Yara in any race was always something that brought pride to the gorilla. @tag- # # # - notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ NOTES:Yaraits your development lol. pop up however many seconds behind him you want | He was mostly agile thanks to years of experience and the childhood spent growing up scrambling for your life. He took note that the gorilla was managing pretty well and decided to change the path from linear to twisting. Reaching up, he worked his way up and onto a branch on the other side of the tree he was perched on, then jumped his way straight up. He kept a winding path until he came to the top of a tree, enough to poke his head out from the leaves.
Ducking back under the canopy though, he didn't stop. He jumped and used another thick branch as leverage, swinging and tossing his self to another nearby tree, repeating the process as he could. He kept up the jumps and climbs for a little bit before coming to a halt at a canopy once again. He'd sit there and wait for the Gorilla and Yara's head to appear with his. He wasn't winded, but he was feeling the burn in his previous injuries, his thighs screamed at him for forcing them to do so much.
Until they got to the top of the tree, he'd count the seconds before each one caught up to him. Sitting in silence and listening to the sounds of the jungle, rather than say anything. Yet. |

I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. As Axel took off Yara had barely just made it up to the branch Jett launched himself off after him. Her sides were certainly not thrilled about this exercise. But this wasn’t about her. She took off after Jett as he swung deftly through the winding trees, swinging from his long arms and launching himself with his powerful legs across the jungle floor below.
She soared with his euphoria and it drove her to do her best. She did not have the leg strength to launch herself over the large gaps they could so she found herself performing a balancing act as she leapt from the smaller branches. She was lighter than the two of them so she could get height on Jett even if it was more precarious. There were a couple of close calls where branches snapped underneath and she stumbled catching a few scratches to the bottoms of her feet. She had almost beat Jett to the top when a large gorilla hand grabbed her ankle yanking her down.
She let out a sharp yell as she scrambled through the branches gaining a couple of well-placed bruises and scrapes as she hit the jungle floor. “You are a pain in the ass!” she yelled up at Jett as he peered down at her, his lips pulled back in his toothy gorilla laugh. She growled charging up the tree dodging a couple of tossed branches and debris.
Jett figured he had delayed her enough and popped his head out of the canopy holding onto the tree trunk not trusting the thinner branches on the top. It had been about 1 minute after Axel had stopped to wait for them, he made a pleased and cheesy face at Axel showing he was quite pleased with the workout as well as his attempts at sabotage. He would protect Yara fiercely but it was also his job, he determined, to make her life even more of a challenge.
It took Yara another 1 ½ to climb the top. She balanced herself lightly on one of the thinner branches kneeling to catch her breath. She was covered in dirt and miscellaneous foliage bits while the back of her shirt had been torn open when she had caught herself on a branch. There was a fresh scrape laid on top of a web of faded scars, some areas looked to be missing an actual chunk of flesh and those had formed purple and blue to mend what the skin could.
Jett laughed at her patronizingly the only way a gorilla could. “Laugh it up cheater,” she grumbled grouchily at him, thought as she looked away she couldn’t help but smile. He was the light of her life and she would let him win all day long if it made him happy. She still avoided direct contact with Axel though and she let her eyes scan the breathtaking view of the sky and tree canopy before her.
This is what it means to be alive
