Born of the great Goron heroes of legends, Daruhan is one of the mightiest and fiercest warriors in the land. At least, that’s what he’d want you to think. He, in fact, has rather humble origins. His mother mines and carts rocks to aid in the reconstruction efforts of Hyrule and his father crafts tools and the occasional weapon to supply his people.
From a young age Daruhan wanted to do all he could to help both of his parents, but mostly wound up helping his mother mining since his father thought having a child in a smithy was a recipe for disaster. He got good at the job and was very pleased with himself that he could do his part, despite his age, to help his Hylian brothers.
As he got older, he noticed the world was changing, the treks carrying the rocks used to rebuild began to fall under attack by dodongos looking for an easy meal, Tektites were beginning to be more of a nuisance. He heard similar tales from travelers in the cities they delivered the rocks to that monsters were beginning to stir everywhere. When he made it home to Goron City he looked up at the statues of the great goron heroes. They didn’t become legends by carting rocks and hoping they didn’t get attacked by beasts. They became great by facing adversity with a weapon in their hands defending what they cared for. From then on, whenever there was a free moment he spent it practicing how to fight with whatever was available to him and learning what he could of monsters and how to defeat them.
As time passed his efforts began to bear fruit, he stepped forward towards dodongos that attacked his caravans, throwing rocks at its face to enrage it, urging his people to strike at its delicate back side while he distracted the beast until they became confident defending themselves without him there. Even though he wanted to, he knew it was impossible for him to personally escort every caravan. Besides, if monsters were becoming a threat everywhere he would need to travel and face this threat wherever it presented itself. He felt that since he had become powerful it was his responsibility to share his strength with those that were not strong. A responsibility he now takes very seriously.
Addition: As a result of Daruhan's efforts to help restore Hyrule, he has been awarded the high honor of being the Goron's chosen knight to pilot Divine Beast Rudania.
