His problems are absolutely none of your concern, and as long as he's involved, you'll never know he has problems. Axel's family lived out, deep in the Akkala highlands, daring adventurers that just couldn't get enough of trying their hand with fate. Trying their hand with fate also resulted in Axel being harmed more times than he could count, more times than they could as well, considering they were the adults. His family slowly began to boil this young boy's blood. He thought Sheikah were supposed be smart.
His body became scarred, he was wounded every time he went into the Akkala wilderness to help them hunt. He eventually grew cold to these wounds, and developed a pain tolerance, as well as an attitude. The bear that followed him every time he went into danger provided more safety than these fools. Eventually, he snapped and turned his back on his family. While they slept, he moved from tent to tent and took them all down. Can't scream if you can't breathe.
An amazing feat for a sixteen year old, I know. But unknown to his family, he had been going behind their back since he was ten and trying to pray to Hylia for strength.. but none came. He was about to give up until a dark, evil voice came to him. The voice chilled him to his bones and at first, frightened him. But when it offered strength at the expense of a part of his soul and as long as he killed in Ganon's name. He could have this strength. "Give me a part of you, spill blood in my name and hinder the hero when he rises again... and this strength will be yours."Axel had happily agreed.
He quickly left Akkala, making his way up the hill and almost past the citadel until he was cut off. Night-time on a new moon could be awfully dark, even for a Sheikah. He couldn't see who was in front of him, but they were laughing at him. congratulating him. They introduced their person by stating that they were the Master of the Yiga clan, servants to Ganon. He was offered a position as a foot soldier if he passed their training. He decided to say fuck it, and agreed cautiously. What else would a sixteen year old do in these circumstances? If he kept killing without the proper training... well, he was smart enough to know when something was a bad idea. He took him back to the hideout and his first lesson was learning what his familiar was, and how to use it. Turns out that creepy bear following him around was his familiar. Strong, solitary and undauntable.
He spent years under the master as a footsoldier, his large, powerful form easily making dog food out of the other Yiga during their training. By age twenty-two, Axel was a formidable giant. Standing at 7'10", heavily muscled, tattooed, dark and angry looking, he stood with a domineering posture. Shoulders pushed back, eyes set and not showing a hint of hesitation or weakness. He knew he was strong, and he flaunted it. Constant training pushed his boundaries, he even started training with blademasters before him, and when he bested one, his promotion was offered.
He took it without hesitation. "Of course I will." He's been a Blade master since, going on 20 years now. He had his sclera dyed an angry red, making his green eyes stand out more. This added to his body modifications, he looked like some sort of stitched monster, and he enjoyed it. He now travels Hyrule, spilling blood where it's commanded to be spilled, hiring new a new footsoldier on his master's orders after beating them into the dust. They were left with two options. Die, or join them. This new Yiga was a pest though, making everything he did harder. And it HAD to be the only foot soldier brave enough to piss him right the fuck off at the drop of a pen.
Despite these footsoldiers pissing him off though, Axel has proven himself time and time again to be loyal enough to the cause to earn himself the right of being second in command. The next in line should something happen to Masanori.
