Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong With a big, hefty stretch, Honaw rolled off of the stones that he had used as bedding. His joints popped and his yawn was bigger than the first time as he got his bearings. Today was going to be a hot one, that was for sure. But it wouldn't be nearly as hot as the southern mines, here in he maw of the mountain. At least to Goron kind, that is. To humans, it could be a little on the unbearable side, and only deadly if you were dehydrated. Hefting his pickaxe with ease, the Goron male stomped his way over to the stone wall, cracking his neck a few times before picking up a rhythm with his brothers, chipping away at the wall. The stones crumbled away as the older Goron team worked with ease at the wall, each of them humming their own song, muttering to themselves or simply opting to work quietly. The swings stayed in time, and in time, it was ready to blast a little bit of the wall away. Setting his pickaxe down, Honaw started prepping what he was best at, setting up charges along the wall, and after clearing his goron friends, he lit the fuse and stepped back, watching as the thick rock crumbled away, exposing ore. Now that the ore was exposed, it was time to swap teams. Honaw and his brothers took a break near the hot springs next to the mine, each one talking about something that happened in Goron city while the other, hairier brother just sat in listened. He didn't go up to the city much often, these days. Usually, he'd travel off somewhere on his own and today? He just decided to drop in and help. For what reason? No one really knows except for Honaw... Just kidding, he doesn't know either. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Better judgement forced its way into the old cartographer's head, pushing him towards the bearable ends of Death Mountain. Visiting Goron City had once again proved to be futile. Even in the lower reaches the bearish Hylian felt the heat all over. Raghnall endured, however, taking the step of not having a shirt and revealing the truth of his hulking frame. He was trained well by some of the denizens of the mountain. Few of the Goron were familiar faces, since Raghnall could differentiate between each individual, and his visits had not been as common as some hoped. Even by horse did time just fly by traveling from the closest village or encampment to this area.
Raghnall set his bag down, releasing a quick whistle to relax air movements. His immense chest heaved up and down, collecting a sense of order in his breathing patterns, placing a single knee into the bedrock serving as his platform. Massive, calloused hands rummaged through the old man's stuffed bag, retrieving a writing utensil, parchment, and his easy to wield telescope. Judging any new deviations in the mountain was a better use of his time than anything while he recuperated. Low, bass humming echoed from his throat, his sole, usable eye narrowing its focus towards the diminutive factors. The portable telescope rotated by way of the cartographer's experienced motor skills.
On occasion he turned his attention away from his observations and etched a few notes down. He was prepared, but not so much he prepped all the required instruments to sketch out a rough map of the area. That took more time than he had resources. One day the Hylian planned to sit in the heat for a few hours and endure just to prove some baseless fact. People already questioned the deal with his mass on a day to day basis. Some got used to the eccentric nature of the old man, and others continue to struggle trying to figure Raghnall out. Pausing his work, the man gazed about the area, until a quick rumble and a muffled explosion caused his eyes to widen, "Whit the ever livin' goddess was thon!"
He scrambled for his spyglass, gazing into the distance, the man's full height at use. Just more of the same rocks and boulders thus far. On the plus side those moving boulders seemed to not be bothered by the event one bit. Raghnall gave a shrug, turning his spyglass's aim away before pausing, then placing his attention back on the moving boulders. A chuckle escaped his throat, wide grin showing itself, "Ye slippery devils." Both hands collapsed his farseeing tool into its compact form, rotating his body and crouching to pack up before moving out. He knew just how to handle the current residents of the hot springs further down. The cartographer bounced his shoulders three times, a charm as it were, making sure his crowded bag kept its balance.
A treat that he met face to face with the infamous mountain dwellers once more, the famed Gorons who took part in raising a once youthful Raghnall. The Hylian snickered as his eye caught sight of a particular fellow. He could manage whatever trickery these Gorons could toss at the old man, a presumptuous sneer he almost failed to upkeep, "Noo who telt ye it was a good idea not invitin' somebody important." The old bear's gaze morphed into a scowl, waiting for the just as infamous Honaw to respond. Yet, there was no use in trying to keep up a serious mood. Raghnall unleashed a booming laugh as he placed his bag on the ground, wide arms outstretched in a familiar greeting, "Brother! Gahahahaha!"

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Honaw's large hands clenched as a powerful yawn shook his body. He had already made the boom they needed, and he wasn't really needed here anyways. They've gotten used to him not being around anymore, since he traveled to work now. They didn't mind having him though, considering he was one of the best Goron out there to send in to set up the explosives. He had been aiming to stand up after he told his brothers that he'd see them later until a booming, familiar voice announced itself across the rocky turf. It was a human who's face had become familiar to Honaw. He was younger than this man, but they were close enough in age that it didn't really matter. A large grin crossed the deviant's face as he used one of his hands to finish shoving his hulking form to it's feet, meeting the hulking Hylian face to face. "BROTHER!" Honaw shouted in unison with the other Goron that were nearby, his heavy arms outstretched to mock the greeting pose. It wasn't long though that the open armed pose ended in a gruesome looking bear hug. The Goron's hefty arms wrapped around the Hylian and gave him a just as hefty hug. He aimed to lift Raghnall off the ground for just a short moment, he'd only hold him there for a second before plopping him onto the ground, giving him several firm pats on the back. "A sight for sore eyes, yea? What brings you back to Death Mountain?!" It was an honest question. He was more than aware that the man next to him was tougher than most Hylians, but that didn't make him fireproof. The lava of death mountain was true to it's nature, if not more intense than regular lava. It was hot. Anything that neared too close to the pools of lava on this mountain that wasn't some sort of fire proof immediately burst into flames from exposure to the heat. He had seen few humans come onto the mountain without having to turn around, and they had either drank something or been wearing armor that helped shield them from the searing heat. Even then, they would comment that with the armor, it was still like a dry, hot, summer day. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Oh how he missed the resounding vocals of these mountain dwellers. They were his family, and family influenced its kin in the best of ways at times. Some were unfortunate to not have such a bond, and thus keeping Raghnall grateful for the men who raised him. Even the firm bear hug did not deter the joy springing forth in the Hylian's eye. The immense man's body tightened at Honaw's grip, showing off the old fool's unending durability. At this point in life Raghnall had no difficulties putting up with the Gorons' strength, unlike other races, and was tempted to edge his dear brother in arms into putting in more strength. Good for the back.
Raghnall's own, baritone chuckle continued as he gave Honaw some hefty pats on the rocky back in return. The cartographer quite enjoyed showing up without notice ahead of time, giving away surprises to long time friends and acquaintances. "Got some time on me hands and decided to take a dauner up here fer once," the old cartographer started, "doin' some map work where I ken willnae kill me. Then I saw ye through my spyglass. Course, nobody else makes the whole place go boom like that!" All of them were the same as the last time. Nothing changes with these Gorons. Even monsters tended to be wary of this area, as the inhabitants were not found of invaders, regardless of the jovial nature of these people.
"Still, hae ye been? We huvnae seen each other fer whit, years, or somethin'? Keep losin' track o' time," Raghnall said, looking over his massive brother. Living with these guys did not mean he knew everything about these rock peoples' anatomy. One could have been sick and kept up the tough act to where nobody else notices until the situation became severe. Wait, that was more the encampment's leader from back in the day. Glancing over at the other Gorons, they resumed their own chats, ignoring the pair trying to catch up on old times. Raghnall knew Honaw the most out of those gathered here, and he had an easier time recollecting his thoughts when focused on a single person. Yet, what could he say to his old friend?
Maybe, oh, that sounded right. This one in front of the Hylian was the sort who might be fond of banter. Giving a shrug, the old man's lips reared upwards a bit, mischief beginning to circulate, "Hope ye huvnae been tryin' to swim again, cause unlike ye who needs the shallow pool, I can suffer a good amount of heat compared to a normal Hylian."

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Honaw was more than sure that the Hylian man could withstand the bear hug, besides, he had lived with quite a bit of influence from their race. Their immense strength would make mince meat of anyone not powerful enough to handle them. Luckily, Goron were more peaceful than anything. They preferred not to fight, and thanks to their stature, nothing really wanted to fight a Goron in the first place. These big, huggable giants from Death Mountain loved it when a human could stand up to them though. Don't be mistaken. Honaw cracked his jaw and dropped his arms by his side, nodding with a grin as the giant of a Hylian spoke. "Well then I'm glad I could give you a proper 'welcome back to Death Mountain, don't mind the fact Honaw is back btw' Boom!" He laughed out now, unable to control the chuckles that were being forced down his throat by what little self control he had. His large grin turned to thoughtful though at the next sentence's point. It did indeed feel like it had been years, and now that he thought about it? Wow, time really did fly by when you traveled. In reality, yes, it had been years since the two had last actually seen each other. Honaw's lifestyle often had him underground, which he didn't mind, but that meant that he would be easily missed unless the person was brave enough to investigate a cave just cause they wanted to, or heard the couple of Goron in there working on clearing spots out to be loaded for a charge and what not. "I guess it has been a while since we've last seen each other." He finally answered, rolling his shoulders to pop his back. "I've been rocky." He snorted with a chuckle, glancing over at the Hylian next to him. "Honestly? Pretty good brother! Traveling has kept me busy, though I guess you'd know all about that, eh?" He gave him a grin, nudging him with his elbow before freezing in place, deadpanning at his old friend. "Well, you're lookin like ya might overheat any minute now." He droned out, a mischievous grin showing across his features. He knew exactly what Raghnall was doing. He made a crack about that past accident where Honaw had wound up in some water that he couldn't quite make it out of. Of course, he was far from offended by it, especially considering that this Hylian was the one that had miraculously helped save his life from a cold, watery grave. With one smooth motion, Honaw gave the Hylian a hefty shove towards the hot spring that they were next to. It was deep enough that the fall into the water shouldn't hurt him, he should be safe from sharp rocks and what not, but it was shallow enough that a Goron could stand and not end up drowning. Besides, this kind of rough housing happened in and around the Mountain quite frequently. It wasn't like he was shoving the man straight into lava. That just.... that just sounded painful. Living a life of adventure and excitement caused the old fool to settle into a not so pacifistic situation. He knew his just as old friend traveled about, but even then his work provided a much wider expanse to wander. Business as usual. Raghnall should not have worried about the Goron, nor should he concern himself with how bad he worries his brothers. Being tough in both mental and physical attributes was a desired trait, one instilled into the Hylian by the very men he confronted. However, a thought crossed Raghnall's mind as he pondered the idea of family. Not once did he introduce the people who rescued him from a terrible fate, and it was far too late in years to do such.
Yet, the old man came out of his temporary stupor as Honaw mentioned over heating, "Och, really? I thought I was enough of a bear thon naw temperature can rupture me body!" Hefty muscles tensed, causing his body to flex for a moment. Even standing still did Raghnall manage to show off his physique that still impressed Gorons. He caught his buddy on the metaphorical lure as well, that past incident a joy to bring up. Granted, Raghnall did not go and push every Goron he saw into the to prove a point, as he was raised better knowing that these folks cannot swim. If given the chance the old bear was glad to make sure he pulled an unfortunate fellow to safety from the soul sucking abyss of death. Drowning was not a good idea, regardless of race.
"But it's been a while, how aboot we go," Raghnall began, interrupted by the force of a living mountain. His balance was out of whack, the man stumbling into the heated pool existing in a hole. The Hylian's back was the first to witness the sudden change in environment, his body shocked at the heat. Raghnall stayed underneath the water a moment, regaining his bearings, pushing his arms against the water pressure to break towards the surface. He let out a quick gasp, shaking his head to remove excess water. The liquid still dripped down his ragged hair and aging face, but he was able to speak well enough, "Think yer a funny one, dinnae ye?" An elbow leaned on the rocky surface out of the spring, head rested on his hand, the old man's other hand drumming its fingers.
A swell idea hit him. The pool itself was large enough for multiple Gorons, and his old pal was the appropriate size for a rock dweller. "I dinnae ken. Maybe ye should simmer down," Raghnall said. His age did not ruin his infamous strength, nor his speed, and lash his hands out towards Honaw's ankle. If he managed to grab on, the man heaved his just as old companion off the ground in order to slam the Goron into the hot spring. Justice would be served.

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Honaw was too busy laughing at Raghnall's soaked form to pay attention to the hand reaching for him. Not like he could do much to begin with. Goron noticed things much faster than they could move, and when it came to dodging.. it just wasn't their forte. So the distracted Goron soon found his self on his rear end, being tugged towards the water with no real option to react in time to fight back. He hit the hot spring with a glorious splash, taking a moment to right his self to where he could stand up, his head coming up out of the water, face dead-pan as he turned to Raghnall, arms crossed. "Guess I had that comin'." He ground out, dead expression finally filling up with a grin as his chuckle returned. He just couldn't keep a straight face, it was one of the many things that he sucked at. Reaching out, he grabbed for Raghnall's shoulder to push him back some in retaliation. "It's good to see that you're still as strong as always!" It was. There had to be a record out there and Raghnall shattered it. World's strongest human or something. Honaw didn't know, he didn't pay attention to that kind of stuff, but he's sure one of his brothers might know about it. @tag @raghnall ah. fuck. sorry that's so short MADE BY VEL OF GS

Grayed beard rose with his cheeks, a smug grin pleased at the results of Goron meeting hot spring. The heated water sprayed all over the old man's body, used to the temperature now that Raghnall settled himself in, robust chest bouncing in tandem with his laughter, "Ye bet that was comin'! Nae even those Yiga can get the drop on me easily." His back set itself on the edge, arms outstretched to allow the spring's waves to release any tension in his body. He missed having company with his stony comrades. Due to racial circumstances this place was the sole area they took anyone for a bit of fun. Oh, that swell idea was not going to end yet, however. Fun was not just a simple gesture between these men and that was that. Even more proof was the fact the moment Raghnall pushed himself off he ledge, Honaw shoved the Hylian in the shoulder.
Oh no, that just will not do.
"Whit, think I'm wrinkled and a has been at me age," he responded, taking clenched fists and slamming them into his own chest. The imminent thud against hardened muscle proved more than the old man can explain. Granted, sometimes he wished swords and the like could bounce off his skin, but what he was able to do now was satisfying. Maybe a good old tavern brawl later will give his body some form of punishment afterwards. Yet, the man knew he was growing impatient. Cupping his hands into the water, Raghnall splashed his face and wiped off the excess with his palm. Wandering even Death Mountain's outer rim took its toll on the body's natural moisture. Heck, any dry place was going to cause a Hylian's skin to be rough around the edges. The cartographer sized up his buddy again, moving forward until the two were chest to chest. Rather, to an extent. Looking up at someone taller was both rare and annoying.
Sonorous chuckling made itself known, "Hmm, dinnae suppose ye wanted to test me strength like we used to in our youth. Or are ye gaunnae feel sorry fer my bein' auld and all that nonsesne." The point of no return was long passed. Various, playful taunts never failed to kick life into the mountain dwellers. Both arms raised, shoulders rolling back, right hand lifted with wriggling fingers, "Will ye nae entertain us a wee bit, come noo. Looks like yer rock hard self needs a good workout." A few jabs here and there would not hurt. Monsters had a tendency of going after the beat down instead of a well deserved wrestling match. Glancing over towards his equipment, the old cartographer confirmed nobody had bothered his things, focusing on Honaw once again. That may have been the wrong choice to make. Having the attention span of a goldfish was not going to win any awards, except for the one involving stupid decisions and consequences.
But looking down on others in a physical sense was his, damnit!

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Honaw grunted at his comment, his large grin still plastered on his face like a major criminal's poster on a wanted board. It was there to stay, save for the occasional, exasperated expression in reaction. "The only thing I feel sorry for is missing breakfast." He cracked, immediately moving forward to grab the larger male, the problem was though that Gorons were not fast, and when they were standing in any kind of water that came up to their waist, they lost even more of their "speed" as some would dare call it. It had been quite a while since Honaw had bothered trying to wrestle anything other than some monsters that wanted to try and kill him, and that went horribly for the monsters involved... uh, most of the time, that was. Honaw had a magnetism for shitty situations, it seemed, and it was still with him, even in his age now. He just, had a tendency to land into the worst possible situation. Nuff said. @raghnall Nother short one, cept this time, it's cause I don't want to drown out the action part of the post in exposition. If they are really gonna wrestle, that is. MADE BY VEL OF GS
