Goron
|
Post by Daruhan on Jan 16, 2018 17:18:21 GMT -8
What joy Daruhan would have normally felt returning the stifling heat of Goron City was squelched by what he had seen in Lurelin. It was simply unacceptable. So many people either dead or homeless, their homes and livelihoods destroyed by rampaging monsters. Surely there was something the gorons’ could do to help them. He was well aware of the other restoration projects being carried out by his people (having spent a good chunk of his life aiding them). Those people in Lurelin, however, were in an immediate need. He had just gotten done speaking to the Chief about this matter to get advice on how to proceed. The chief, in their ancient wisdom told him this, “Boy, your heart is in the right place. But what in Hylia’s name are you doing wasting your time talking to me? My place is here with the city. I ain’t goin. Get out and talk to the others. Gather who you can and what you can and get to it.” Daruhan should have expected something like that from the chief, they always had a way with words.
Daruhan spent the next several hours trying to grab the attention of passers by and the other denizens of the city to explain the situation to them and try to get their aid. Pretty much anybody who would stand around long enough to listen to him. He seemed to be doing a fairly good job delivering his message of Lurelin’s attack and that the people there desperately needed help cleaning and rebuilding. He hoped as many people that showed concern went to help.

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Hey! Back in Goron City, even if was for a short amount of time. Outside of the general brotherhood among Gorons, Honaw didn't really have much to come back to, but he did need something to eat and he was in the area. He did a small bit of catching up with the others, but mostly sat back and did the listening, even as he was just resting on the ground next to a river of lava, he was listening. There was another goron going about, asking if others wanted to give their aid to Lurelin. He'd heard of the attack, but he never actually got the chance to look into it. He was busy helping the other Goron fight off monsters and protect Hyrule village while all of that was going on, but those rumors were definitely true, and if Lurelin needed the help of gigantic rock people, who was Honaw to say no. The people there, and a specific Hylian that hailed from there had done so much for him. Pushing his self to his feet with a soft 'gor', Honaw started to make his way over to the Goron asking questions, thumping him on the back to let him know he was there. "I'll lend a hand brother!" He spoke up over the sound of a couple of young Goron rolling by. The sooner he was out of this city, the better to be honest. He liked moving around, and the lifestyle on the volcano was just not to his liking. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Daruhan looks over to the voice calling to him, “Thanks brother! I’ll be honest, it’s been pretty tough finding people to help. Everyone is so busy! I really appreciate your willingness to help out!”
He stretches a bit while scratching the back of his head, “Say brother, you want to go take a walk with me to get some rock sirloin? It’s been so long since I’ve been back in town I’ve almost forgotten what it tastes like. The rocks in the rest of Hyrule just don’t measure up.” He laughs heartily, “And you know they say good food loves good company! Consider it my treat for being willing to help out our little brothers so willingly. " “Perhaps we can do some scouring for some monsters too beforehand if you’re up for it. It’ll help get the blood flowing and work up the appetite so it'll taste that much better!” He smiles widely, his face full of excitement.

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Well if it was one way to make friends, it was the best way. Food was possibly the quickest way to get a Goron to appreciate you better, the prospect of actually looking for something to eat definitely over rode his need to get out of the cit- oh hey! They were going to be getting out of this place and looking for food. And beating in the heads of some monsters? Honaw didn't get enough fighting in as it was, so he'd definitely be down for that as well! Grabbing his old claymore where he last left it laying, he dropped it over his shoulder and into the chain link he used to hold it still. There wasn't much rolling that could be done in this part of death mountain, and Honaw didn't roll much to begin with. So oddly enough, he was a Goron that carried around a weapon. Slicing did quite a bit of damage to the fleshy monsters he ran into outside of the mountain, so it at least held a purpose. "I'm down with going to find a few sorry monsters to beat into the ground!"Shifting on his feet some, the Goron turned and pointed to the top of the city, near the summit of Death Mountain. "Apparently there's been some issues with Dodongo and other monsters coming out of their caves and into the city. Apparently, one of them tried to drag one of the children off while they were roaming around the abandoned mines." As an explosives expert that helped pretty much run a lot of the mines here and there, traveling back and forth to monitor and place explosives were needed, he also caught wind of a lot of rumors floating around the mines. It just sucked that he didn't really like talking to most other Gorons. Deep rooted issues and all that bullshit best saved for alter. MADE BY VEL OF GS

“Ah, dodongos, I can’t think of a better warm up!” Daruhan cracks his knuckles. “Let’s get started then! Can’t have them trying to take another of our tykes, can we?” Monsters had grown bold indeed lately. It made Daruhan sick. He looks up at the summit of the mountain, “If we’re going to be getting that close to the mountain, maybe we can add cooling off in the hot springs to our relaxation time too eh?” he chuckles.
Clapping his brother on the back he began to walk towards the northern mines. It had been a while since he’d been there, but he was well familiar with the place. He’d spent many a day in those mines with is mother. He couldn’t bear the thought of monsters potentially harming her or any of the other gorons in the mines . Daruhan found himself wishing he could be in more places at once, or at least having the strength to end the monster problems in a more permanent way. How could he call himself a hero, or even someone aspiring to be one if he couldn't even keep his family and people in relative safety?

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong "Definitely. It's not hard work without the reward of cooling off afterwards!" Turning, he began walking next to Daruhan along the path. They were both familiar with the place so it was easy to move around. It was obvious that this Goron was older though, so Honaw had his work cut out for him trying to keep up with him. "Have there been any other rebuilding efforts for Lurelin?" He decided to make some idle conversation, walking along the mountain trail in silence could become incredibly solemn if you weren't careful. Lots of reminiscing to be had for most. Stopping at a certain point outside of the mines, Honaw narrowed his eyes and looked at a rocky outcropping. There were masses moving along the island, disappearing beneath the lava rocks. "They're definitely active, yup." He stopped, drawing his claymore to take a moment to observe it's condition. Deciding that it wasn't cut out for fighting Dodongo anymore, he took it and passed it off to a Goron coming out of the mine, who ducked back inside to put it in Honaw's "usual" spot. "That thing won't do any good in this heat against that hide." Honaw muttered, reaching into a tough hide bag to pull out a pair of cestus. They were heavy gloves, and mimicked iron knuckles built into gloves. He was just used to using weapons in a fight. That's just how he was raised though. "Ready to head out there when you are." There was a visible passage way, so they could move in and not have to worry about ending up at the bottom of a lava pool MADE BY VEL OF GS

Goron

Post by Daruhan on Jan 31, 2018 9:12:52 GMT -8
The elder of the two gorons shakes his head, “Not that I am aware of sadly. That’s why it is so important we must get to work quickly. Lets show our little brothers that no matter what the gorons will stand by their sides and assist them.”
He turns looking out over the pools of rock and lava as Honaw gives his sword to another nearby goron. “Yeah, I see them.” He smiles at his new friend, “Let’s make quick work of this. I have no love for dodongos.” He puts his hands in the rock, calling upon the earth, rocks form around his fists and forearms. Casting: Rock Glove

As the old saying goes “if you go borrowing trouble…its bound to find you” or something of that ilk. Either way the two Goron’s where greeted by a site of two dodongo males at the start of what appeared to be a territory turf war. One dodongo was bellowing ferociously at a smaller, younger dodongo who was backed against a wall and puffing its chest out to makes itself look much more intimidating. When they both saw the Goron’s though they older male turned its attention to them. This was his territory and he wasn’t going to let two Goron’s or the usurper have his cave. The younger male, being the foolhardier or the two, took an aggressive charge towards the larger Goron. If he could get rid of these two he would prove himself to be a better alpha of this cave than the other.

The smaller of the two was charging him? “Well that’s certainly ambitious of you, little guy.” Daruhan tucks himself into a ball and rolls towards the smaller dodongo. Popping up when he arrived and swinging his arms up, hoping to catch and flip the foolish dodongo over. If successful he would then bring his arms together then down upon its soft stomach. If that was enough to end the poor upstart dodongo Daruhan would then roll away quickly, dodongos were explosive corpses. “Hey, Honaw. Why don’t you go occupy that bigger one for a moment? I’ll be over there to help in just a second.” He turns his head to smile at his goron brother. “Let’s teach these guys what happens when they mess with Goron turf!” Your turn!

Like the stones of Death Mountain I stand strong Well that was more than enough for him to lash out. Watching Daruhan take on the little guy, Honaw had zero problems taking on the older Dodongo. This wasn't his first rodeo, not at all. He worked the mines and a lot of times, he blew open a wall that led to a cavern full of incredibly pissed off lizards. One of the types being the Dodongo. Curling up, Honaw rolled towards the older Dodongo and would pop out as soon as he got close to it, slamming his weight into the monster and moving to wrap his arms around it's neck if he could. If he could get ahold of it's neck and head, pull it upwards and keep that grip on him, he could try to control where it's fire breath went, doing his best to keep it off of Daruhan and his self. He'd do his best to hold onto it as well until Daruhan dealt with that threat and moved on over to help him out with the elder. MADE BY VEL OF GS
