It wasn’t long before Lelana came back to awareness and she propped herself up looking around from her ice block. Panic set in when she did not see Flynn but the smell of blood thick as it moved with the current downstream. Diving back into the water she found her spear wedged between some rocks on the river bed and she continued to follow the blood trail.
This was bad and putting in her in a vulnerable position should Flynn be in a frenzy. The closer she approached to the falls the more her panic set in. They had gone over the edge. Lelana dives down the fall and follows the trail of blood looking for Flynn but not finding him.
Pushing through the panic as her head pulses pain she continues searching going down river until she finds Tonga’s body bloodied and broken upon the river bank. She exited the river climbing for a vantage point not caring of the sharp rocks nicked at her delicate flesh. Flynn couldn’t be very far off but the current was strong here.
“FLYNN!!!” she began to call out at this point saying his name over and over again as tears began to stream down her face.
This was not an answer to her pleas. Had Hylia finally deserted her? Doubt flickered her mind as panic took hold tightening her chest.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
Flynn didn't want to let his prey go, but the loud cracking noise that resounded in his skull said other wise. "Ganon damn you." He growled out, finally falling into unconsciousness and letting the current push him out to the bottom of lake floria. Off and on until he fully fell unconscious, he'd let out a low growl, the smell of his own blood filling the water around him.
The last thing he felt was the submerged plant life brushing up against him as he settled along the bottom of Lake Floria. At least down here, no humans could see him from the bridge.

From her vantage point Lelana saw a large dark figure at the bottom of Lake Floria. Having no better hunch to go on she dove down towards it to find that it was Flynn caught up in some of the foliage. This was going to be risky and he wasn’t moving so that was going to prohibit him from taking in oxygen from the water if it wasn’t moving over his gills.
She spoke to him about the malgyorgs to ensure that if he came out of his unconsious stupor that he would know it was her and hopefully reduce the risk of him lashing out at her. It was a risk she was willing to take to save his life here. As she spoke to him she managed to get his body untangled and she grabbed him to drag him up to the surface.
His dead weight was too much for her to pull out and maintain fighting against the current and his blood was flowing too freely. She cursed loudly as she created an ice block large enough to lift both of their bodies out of the water. She may have had a mild head injury but she still had stamina and she needed to get his bleeding to stop out of both of the wounds.
At this point she was covered in more red that clashed with her scarlett spots his life was more important than worrying about being covered in blood. She would deal with any damned monster that would try to keep her from her task as she used her healing spells to summon a coating of water over the wound that was bleeding more. She would continue to cast the minor spell until either her stamina was reduced or his bleeding stopped.
If she managed to get his bleeding to stop and still maintain some stamina she would move to the next wound. “Hylia may have failed you before and Ganon may have saved you last time but this time its us together that will get you out of this, you have to fight Flynn stay with me” she said adamently.
The more he remained unconsious the angrier she bacame letting out the occasional yell of fury cursing both Ganon and Hylia. He had lost too much blood for him to be safe, if he still hadn’t woken up at this point she would grab her medkit and pull out her smelling salts and hold it close to him in hopes that it would pull him out of his unconsious state.
She both prayed and cursed frustratedly under her breath. She wasn’t going to let him slip away so easily.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? TAG. LelanaTHEME. xxxNOTES. hooray for undefined unconsciouness |
Flynn didn't stay unconscious long after the worst of his puncture wounds closed, and he didn't seem too content at all with where he was. He gripped at the ice carefully and started breathing more erratically as he looked around until he saw Yara. His pupils were still dilated and his mouth still had a red tint to it, his chest was extending and puffing as his breathing deepened and he finally started to realize where he was at and what was going on.
He wasn't dead, that was a relief. With a low huff, he held onto the ice block for just a moment longer before giving the water a tired look. He watched as it moved, pushing the tainted water away and he followed the current with his eyes back to where the bank was, spotting a zora laying on the bank, and it wasn't him, so he wasn't having an out of body experience.
He still wasn't used to these frenzies, where the smell and taste of iron throw him into an all out attack mode. He wasn't sure if he could control them, but for now, he'd really have to start trying to get used to waking up out of these. He was a monster now, so it was far different from what he knew. Before all this, the smell of iron in the water was a warning sign that someone was injured, it didn't make him do... whatever he did.
Tongue running against the roof of his mouth, the taste was still there. Frowning, he laid his head back down on the ice with a huff. Tonga was far from one of the more talented Zora warriors in the domain that had betrayed Flynn. He had a lot of work to go if he was going to hunt his revenge for his past self. Lelana was there, next to him, and he didn't quite have too much to say to her, he was still trying to wrap his head around everything. It was a surreal state and he had no idea what to say, he couldn't find his voice to even try to begin with.
For a moment, he contemplated slipping back into the water, but he didn't. Instead, he looked over to Lelana again and narrowed his eyes just a bit. Did he ever specifically state for her to stay out of it? He couldn't remember, but he did remember not wanting her to get involved, and he was kind of sure she got involved.
"Why didn' ya stay outta it." he didn't really ask, he wanted an answer.

Lelana let out a sigh of relief as he came to and she let her shoulders drop as she grasped her hands to hide the fact they were shacking. Whether it was from fatigue or her panic she couldn’t tell and she didn’t want him seeing it. She was pretty sure he saw her as something to be disregarded as far as competency was concerned in combat. His words hitting her ears only confirmed that suspicion and she felt her panicked anger rise and she became defensive.
“It’s my life too,” she stated “if something happened where he won out over you I would be stuck having to defend myself. To defend my right to choice. I have a say just as much as you do, I’m not some helpless female that needs someone to fight for her…and I don’t need you lecturing me of all people you should understand the most.”
She was angry and scared and the words just tumbled out at the implication of his simple statement. She placed her hands over her eyes and pressed to keep tears from falling and to hopefully alleviate the throbbing pain in her head.
“We should move” she said composing herself “we are sitting targets out here and we need to take care of that,” she said pointing to Tonga’s body.
She didn’t wait for him to respond to her as she slipped off the ice block and into the water crossing over to the bank. Should he follow her she would release the magic on the ice block. She didn’t want to listen to him scold her. She wasn’t a child, she wasn’t helpless. She didn’t need a strong powerful male dictating what she should and shouldn’t do.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
He felt his own anger rise, fueled by fatigue, hunger and a primal boiling that was still working it's way out of his system from earlier. "What if I had forgotten who ya were, ya'd have worse things ta worry 'bout then some stupid, arrogant bastard tryna prove his self ta a buncha politics." He honestly didn't recognize her during the fight, from what he remembered, she was easily a prey to him, she was just not a priority. Her scent bore familiarity and it kept him from lunging at her first for being closer to him.
But she was going and heading towards Tonga. Shoulders still trembling and burning, he pushed his self off of the iceblock and swam towards Tonga, and without hesitation, and his motions obviously wrought with irritation, he gripped the Zora and jerked his body down into Lake Floria. And he continued dragging the other male down until his got to the deepest part of the lake, digging his feet into the mud, murking the water as he went to work with disposing of the body the best he could without losing control thanks to what blood was left in him.
Flynn was down there for a bit, but after a while, and sufficiently turning him into plant food underneath the muddy, rocky bed of the lake, he made his way back up and pulled his self ashore.

Lelana stewed to herself while he set to his own work. It all weighed on her like an anchor wrapper about her neck dragging her down and holding her in place were she couldn’t breath. She wasn’t surprised by what he said but it didn’t make it any better. What’s worse is he hadn’t prepared her for the situation they had just gone through and she was incredibly fortunate he had overlooked her.
That didn’t make it better though.
She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her head wearily on her knees watching the water rush by and wished that it could carry her away somewhere where these problems didn’t exist. Where people, specifically people that she was close to saw her as capable and a place where Flynn might have communicated better instead of making her feel like she was disregarded as dead weight.
When he resurfaced and pulled himself up onto the bank she didn’t go to him immediately, her stubbornness and fatigue locking her from moving. After a while of their heavy silence she would relent and go over to him to examine his wounds again to ensure he hadn’t over exherted himself and had them bleeding again.
If he would let her she would examine them, making sure to not hold eye contact for too long. She was liable to cave entirely. Then she would move behind him to examin his head, she was pretty sure it had been bleeding when she pulled him up from the bottom of the lake.
“I was scared Flynn,” she said softly “scared that he would severely injure you or worse and that he would prevent me from being able to get to you. I should have fought harder before everything; before this happened to you but I didn’t and I am not going to settle for letting them spout those lies about you. Call me foolish or a misplaced martyr but I would rather take the risk of your frenzy rather than carry the weight of another failure as I stood by and did nothing.”
She was facing him now kneeling beside him her hands formed fists against her thighs as she fixated on them. Tears of passion and conviction threatening to overwhelm her. She was a passionate little Zora with a fervor for nature, a love for people, and an unyeilding resolve that had been dormant but had begun to burn relentlessly since encountering him again.
She had stayed mute during his ordeal and now she was burdened with the overwhelming need to obtain atonment from him. He had said it wasn’t her fault but that didn’t change the fact she still felt convicted that her life was his until he released her of that bondage.
She loved him and she owed her life for his.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? TAG. LelanaTHEME. xxxNOTES. he's not feeling this bullshit today |
He wouldn't have minded her talking again if it wasn't so incredibly selfish. His head throbbed, his shoulders screamed, his instincts said find something to eat before I take control, and here he was, listening to her talk about how she'd rather be at risk of being torn to shreds by his teeth and letting him live with that reality than sit back and trust him to handle the situation. It was always about how she should've fought harder. His instincts said bite her, silence her and put her in her place. Flynn told them no though and looked down at the ground.
Well, if she mourned his death once and found the resolve at some point to grow a pair and leave home to become and look for who she wants to be, then she could've easily done it again. Flynn had died once, and if he died again, well, hopefully, Ganon would welcome him into whatever afterlife awaited after the death of a monster. Becoming something undead or ghostly would be fine by him. It was something. He didn't have much to live for at all. Once he and Lelana split paths from each other, the odds of meeting ever again were incredibly low.
And who knows, the next time they met, it could be a violent encounter and they'd be fighting. His head continued to pound, his vision was still burning from the light and sounds were deafening as well as painful. Everything sucked and with his primal side's instincts still gnawing at him, it was incredibly and increasingly difficult to stay positive. Usually he was a positive realist, but now he was finding his self slowly becoming just a realist. Usually he was chill, but he was still fighting that monstrous half's gnawing hunger.
He didn't speak back to Lelana, and instead, he looked to the bridge and shoved his self to his feet. He needed to get to a cave and some sort of food before nightfall. But as he went through caves in his mind, his legs wobbled and his mind kept returning to the cave where he originally fell to Tonga and the other's spears. Looking around, he started heading away from the road. He'd start there, he was too weak to hunt, so he'd have to do his best to weave fish traps as he moved, plucking what he needed along the way as he needed it.
He couldn't speak to Lelana right now. It wouldn't be friendly if he did.

She had the sinking feeling in her gut that she was just burying herself in deeper so when he left without a word she slipped back into the river silently. It was best to just let him be; hopefully later he would tell her how and where she had messed up and if he didn’t she would just ask him.
She couldn’t know what was going on inside his mind and she couldn’t know what she should and should not do if he would communicate. She just wished desperately that she could go back in time before jumping to simply pay attention. But she also had to realize she wasn’t a mind reader and she couldn’t know how she should have acted differently to prevent any of the events that had happened.
She swam further up the river catching as many fish as she could; the best she could do to make amends was to at least help him and she knew his hunger. He had lost a lot of blood and his body would be even more demanding on him now.
She would wait a half mile down the river for him her bag filled with ten fish as she got out of the river and perched herself on a rock. She went about gutting the fish with her long fisherman’s knife. The blade was a foot long and the hilt was made out of carved shell. It was simple and practical; much like her in some ways. While the other Zora had a tendency to be ornate and decorate themselves with finely crafted tools she had always gone for the simpler ones.
Tonga had been looking for her, which meant that there were more Zora out there potentially trying to reclaim her and take her home. She wanted to stay near to Flynn but at the same time she posed a threat and she began to realize how her being near to him may be creating further problems. Unless she felt the urge to sell her soul to Ganon she was of no real benefit to Flynn; just merely a liability.
She didn’t want to be a liability to him but she didn’t know what he wanted. She doubted he even knew. Yes, he had said he felt the same way she had when she told him that she had loved him but the words had never truly left his lips and the reality of it was that she had exposed herself selfishly out of the overwhelming relief and emotions that had surfaced after crossing his path.
He was probably just as overwhelmed if not more so and he may not even feel the exact same way she did. It may simply have been relief at not being alone for the first time after a traumatic decade. She felt like she was going to be sick and it was there that she wished she could literally rip her heart out and remove it from herself. If she truly meant what she said she did the best thing for him was to be as far from her as possible. The only certain thing would the uncertainty of ever seeing him again.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
He had no other choice than to scale the small cliff and start setting up camp near the same cave that he had fallen in. His stomach was arguing and threatening to eat his own spine if he didn't hurry up and get something. With the trap prepared, he walked towards the bank and nestled it in between a pair of rocks. Making sure it wouldn't move, he removed his self from the water and shook some of the wet off, moving to set up some kind of shelter to help cover his self rom the cold rain. And Lelana too if she ever popped back up. There was no way in hell he was going back into that cave.
Stopping in the middle of building, he frowned deeply, glaring at the vines as he moved back to tying things into place. He had seemed to lose quite a bit of his communication skills, it seemed. He wouldn't scold his self over it though, all those years on the run forced people to become that way. They didn't handle being around others for too long anyways. And what was the point in the long run of becoming attached to a normal Zora.
Sitting under the shelter, he had set i up to keep him a foot off of the jungle floor. He began to contemplate whether he really loved Lelana back, or if it was because of him being so alone for long. He wasn't sure, he couldn't think right. His head still screamed in agony and the rush of the water continued making things worse.
He found his self with his eyes shut and his hands over his ears, knees drawn up and head ducked down, trying to mute what senses he could from being overwhelmed, even his powerful nose was starting to betray him. Everything smelled so much more powerful, but it was painful, agonizing. He hadn't had a concussion this bad in an incredibly long time.
