[attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. To be honest, Skulltula infestations were actually pretty easy to deal with for people who were prepared to deal with them. Most villagers however, either didn't want to take the risk, which was totally understandable, or were just too lazy and figured it would be easier to pay someone else to get rid of it. Considering this was a fishing village in the Faron area, well it was probably a bit of both. They could be hardy folk when they wanted to be, but rooting out a Skulltula nest took away time that could be spent fishing and bringing more prosperity to the village, so for them, it was just easier to hire someone. Worked for him, it gave him more money.
He sat in a chair inside an inn, poring over a map of the jungle. They were most likely in a cave in order to keep dry from the dense rainfall, so it might be possible to just burn them out or something. Smoke them out if that wasn't possible and put them in a position where they could just be exterminated. Fortunately once they were off their webs they were rather easy to bring down, as all one had to do was expose their underbelly. He had learned long ago that one of the easiest ways to do this was just to flip them over with the flat of your blade. Surprising, that, but it worked out.
What would he need? His fingers tapped the wooden table in a rhythm. Weaponwise, crushing was ideal but that might mean going into their nest. He was alone, if he got trapped, that was the end of that. For that, maybe bodkin arrows would be able to pierce the spiders' strong shells. If any came out, maybe get them on their backs or just crush them. Yes, there were ways to work this, just had to take it slow. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | "HEY NO. FUCK YOU" A loud, angry voice snapped, earning something along the lines of 'I thought sheikah were nice' from a defeated voice. "Yea. All flowers n sunshine till someone like you goes off grabbin asses!"The short woman practically kicked the door to the inn, walking over to the innkeeper almost immediately, high-fiving some random people along the way. She was short, that was for sure, but short may as well been an understatement. She hopped up on top of the counter with ease though and slid over it, standing behind the inn keeper. "Got any monsters bothering you guys? Crystal's weekly monster service decided to drop by and see if you needed any help with some local bastards steppin on your turf." She asked, poking the inn keep in the back before being lifted and plopped on the other side by the hefty woman. The Sheikah were well acknowledged throughout Necluda, mostly due to the fact that the Sheikah presence was at its strongest in Necluda and Lanayru. With a bored expression, Crystal listened to the inn keep talk about local troubles that she could probably help with. She remained leaning on the counter after that though, continuing to carry on with a little bit of small talk with the larger woman. Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro ✉ notes: i mean can you blame the guy both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. And then things were loudly broken by a young girl shouting profanity. For a moment, Alex actually expected to hear the sound of violence. A smack, a punch, something. But no, instead the guy mumbled something about Sheikah supposedly being nice before the girl specified what had gone on. Really, Alex was surprised that she hadn't punched the guy or something. Quite the first impression, really. Then it turned out that she was a monster hunter like him. ... Actually he really shouldn't have found that surprising. What with that guardian thing they were doing, most of the Sheikah did something like this on the side. Really, he'd find it weird if they didn't hunt monsters on the side.
At least with her leaning over the counter, he was able to see what the hell it was that the man had been willing to risk a punch to the face for before slightly nodding in agreement. Okay, that made a bit more sense then. His eyes trailed up to the innkeeper who was stuck in a conversation with this Crystal. Should he butt in? That would be rude wouldn't it? To just barge in on a conversation? But taking care of Skulltulas was really something he didn't like the idea of doing alone, and then whatever deity happened to be watching over him delivered a Sheikah right into his lap. Right, clearly the answer was to do this without being a rude asshole. Didn't really want to burn that bridge before it was built.
Knowing that the innkeeper had a view of the inn, Alex simply raised his hand and a single finger as a sign that he was looking for a drink. What he did was slightly more ridiculous. Placing his finger on the jungle map, he then lifted both hands up and... made a figure of a spider? What? It got even stranger as he followed it up with a thumbs up. Right. Well, if she actually got the hint he'd totally make sure to buy something, maybe get some food too, stay the night at the inn even. Granted, these were all things that he had already planned, but she didn't know that! | I'm tired of the way you look at me | Crystal stopped talking with the inn keep had held up a finger to her. Swatting at the finger, Crystal went silent out of respect for the woman's wishes and turned her focus to carving some dirt out of a sheikah's eye that had been carved into the bar. The inn keep on the other hand watched Alex for a moment. She'd been in the business too long to not catch a hint and gave Alex a nod before turning to Crystal, pointing to the man and earning a shrug from the girl. After a moment of banter, Crystal swatting at a hand trying to ruffle her hair and several more profanities, the shorty began to make her way over to Alex, an eyebrow raised with a smirk of amusement. "You need somethin, bean pole?" She asked, grabbing a chair at the table before flopping down into it, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees. At least he was considerate enough to make gestures rather than just butt in like some sort of prick. It was a refreshing break. Seriously, the guys that interrupted her could go fuck themselves. "Spiders, was it?" She was a sheikah, stealth vs stealth was an interested turn out. But for now, she'd see if this guy was worth helping out in the first place. She didn't want to end up wasting her time with some dumbass. Countless times she's taken the lead cause a quest partner had gotten lost, even with the assistance of a map. [attr="class","ohlove"] both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Yes, she was a smart person! Someone who got the hint and booted the young girl over to him. Probably got Crystal out of danger too. Well, not real danger, but who wanted to be stuck with someone who could ramble on about fucking nothing for two hours when you had no interest? Those people were the worst, especially when you had something you had to take care of, but no, they couldn't stop talking. He raised his hand again, this time holding up two fingers. He figured he could get drinks, and if Crystal didn't drink, well then he could take care of that for her as well. Wasn't he just the picture of politeness, even if she gave him a rather unique nickname, not one that he would've given himself to be sure.
Bean pole was it? A charming nickname to be sure, not that it was entirely inaccurate. For a Sheikah, she was a small little thing, so chances were good that he towered over her. In fact, he was pretty sure of that. Well two could play at that game. He gave her an amused smirk before he responded in his own way. Alex cupped his hand around one of his ears and leaned over towards Crystal, as if he couldn't exactly hear that the little one was saying from so far down below him. Before nodding in comprehension as if the words were finally reaching him from down below the beanstalk.
Yes, it was spiders. Alex leaned back a bit, ignoring the wood digging into his back. Damn these chairs were uncomfortable. "Big ones, naturally. Blame the jungle." The prey there helped contribute to their growth no doubt. Fresh meat all the time, some of them people, unfortunately, otherwise they probably wouldn't be talking about getting rid of them. "Simple root and burn, really. It's just more trouble than it's worth to do it themselves I guess." Kill the skulltulas, burn the webs to make sure no more got the idea to just set up shop there, and then head on out. He just didn't like doing them alone because there was more than just fangs to worry about. | I'm tired of the way you look at me | Crystal knew exactly what that gesture meant. Narrowing her eyes, she glared at the other man before suddenly raising her eyebrows and leaning back in turn. "Don't drown now." She snerked back at the gesture, crossing her arms as he carried on about what his plans were. She was immediately concerned with his tactics. The sheikah were constantly hammered with warnings of the Yiga, and now that news had been spreading of the Yiga jumping to help monsters. Crystal had changed her approach to fighting them. "Big ones won't be a problem. Skulltula are easy to deal with if you know what you're doing. The problem is that." Crystal stopped herself for a moment before leaning forward, turning her head to look out the window. "Can we discuss this somewhere less populated? Don't need to be stressin out the townsfolk." She asked, looking back at the man for either an agreement or some sort of no. "Oh, right. Yea. Crystal by the way." She quickly introduced herself, watching as the inn keep brought drinks over. The woman let them know they could take the mugs outside if needed. She herself didn't want her patrons getting stressed out over monster talk. Especially when that monster talked involved giant, angry, deadly spiders. Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro ✉ notes: concerned? what's the worst that can happen? both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Alex shrugged before grinning. "It's the red eyes, hard not to." He fired back. Really, who was going to whine about friendliness, this was better anyway. Needless to say, she was already on his good side. Most people were always so grim about everything, one never got a chance to just kick back and enjoy something for the fun of it. He had to admit, the Sheikah always did have nice eyes. But she was right about the Skulltulas, they wouldn't be that big of a problem. If they couldn't kill them before they got on the ground, it was really just a matter of flipping them over. Strange how that worked, but the flat of a sword could do it.
When they got their drinks, first thing Alex did was take a gulp from his. Local stuff always varied depending on where you got it, so it was a good idea to figure out what worked where. As long as it wasn't dry shit he was happy. Give him sweet drinks any day. He looked around at the mention of stressed townfolk before nodding. Somehow, he had a reason that from Crystal's point of view it wasn't all about keeping from stressing the townfolk. The spiders seemed less like a threat these fishermen feared and more of a nuisance that they just didn't want to deal with. Fishermen were tougher than most people gave them credit for. So he figured there was something else that she was on about. "Alright, fair enough."
He paused for a moment as he nodded. Right, he shouldn't be rude. But he did smile a bit. "Yes, you made quite the introduction. More charming than mine, anyway, Alexander, Alex for short." So he took the time to roll up the map, because he paid for that and there was no way he was letting some asshole steal it while he was out. He slipped the map in with the rest of his belongings, grabbed his mug and led the way, heading outside and slipping behind the building. Yeah, nothing shady about this, no way anyone would take this as something illegal. "Well, I doubt people worth worrying about are going to be walking up to us, you wanted to continue things in here?" Now what was it she wanted? | I'm tired of the way you look at me | Crystal kept a deadpan stare at his red eyes comment before standing up with him, grabbing the mug in front of her and following him till they were out of ear shot with the villagers. "Well, yea Alex. I figured if we're gonna talk about wiping out monsters, I may as well warn you about the Yiga." She stated as she took a good sized drink from her mug. "These guys seriously stress me out. I wanted to make sure that you knew about their rising activity. It's not likely, but it's still a possibility that if we take on the monsters and cause too much of a ruckus, that a Yiga will come to their aid."Making a faux, grossed out expression, she mocked disgust and frustration. "They're persistent banana fucks. They're also strong and just as fast as us Sheikah." Shaking it off, she finished her mug, gave it a surprised expression and walked over to put it on the window sill for the innkeep. "I will go with you either way, I just wanted you to know."Alexander Elessar | when you think I'm not watching |

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Crystal Genjaro✉ notes: wild bananas are great tho both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. The Yiga? Alex gave her a wide eyed stare at that one. "... They're real?" Weren't they supposed to be long gone or something? He found that a bit of a tough pill to swallow, namely because he just didn't believe it. He shook his head. "They can't be." He'd been going around this for a few years and had never once encountered anything. Oh he'd heard rumors that they existed, that they were active, but rumors were just that, rumors. You always heard stupid rumors when traveling the world. The dragons had come again. Darknuts had been spotted. Lynels breaking the laws of the world and seeming to teleport just to club some poor shmuck before leaving. You heard ridiculous things all the time, you learned to tune most of it out.
He downed the rest of his drink. Yeah, he was going to be needing it if that much was true. No one wanted to fight the Yiga. "I don't see the Sheikah being big enough assholes to keep something like that secret." This naturally, excluded Crystal, if she were telling the truth. She was right there, telling him they were real and to keep watch for them. So far, Crystal was still on his good side. "Still, thank you. Barring this being some joke, I appreciate it." She seemed like a good person anyway, so he didn't know why she would lie.
Letting out a sigh, he realized this was going to be problematic. It was apparently a big enough deal for Crystal to suddenly stop being so energetic. "You really think they'd come to the aid of spiders though? They're spiders, no one likes spiders." There was plenty to prepare for, more than just spiders. "Although I guess even if you say they're unlikely to appear, we should probably assume they are and prepare for it. Skulltulas are easy enough. Bodkin arrows and other piercing weapons should be enough." Of course, this was still a huge stretch for him. But it wouldn't hurt to be careful, he figured. Still, banana fucks? What was this about bananas? | I'm tired of the way you look at me | "Hate to break it to ya, but yea, they're real. I figured you'd be able to handle the news better than most. The elders want to keep it hidden cause they outright believe that the knowledge that the yiga are still here as a hidden menace would cause panic among the people." She sighed and rubbed her temples with a shrug. "We're not sure if they prioritize monsters or not, but they've been getting protective. Specifically over the ones that turn to smoke when killed."She looked down at the ground and back up to Alex, rubbing her chin in thought. "If worse comes to worse, they're apparently not as intelligent as they used to be. I could give you time to get away, then get away myself." She specified, waving a hand. "I don't think they'll be a problem. I just honestly think people should know about this risk when it comes to monster hunting." Clapping her hands, she took a deep breath and nodded. "But lets go fuck up some spiders! No point in letting the infestation get any worse and someone has to do it, right?"She forced a pep back into her step as this guy seemed ready to accept that the Yiga were an existing threat. Crystal was trained on what to do if she encountered a Yiga, so the best she could do was give him an escape, then work on hers.
