The asinine sarcasm was really starting to get to her. The nickname was fine, it was kinda cute and Illia liked it, but she needed to learn rank, fast. She liked helping the newer yiga though, the always seemed to underestimate her because she wasn’t a stoic hardass.
Illia sighs, noticing the undisrupted ground. “I thought we had agreed on not using any magic.” She shakes her head a bit, loosening her stance before tightening it up into a more defensive stance. “I guess if you’re going to cheat, I’ll have to quit playing around so much. Now you attack me.”
The base earth style was many things, powerful, firm, defensive, and decisive. It was however extremely predictable if one knew how to counter it. Illia knew what to look for and would utilize this skill.
When Yara went to attack, her center of gravity would be shifted forward if she punched, or back if she kicked. Illia knew yara would try for a punch. Earth users like to touch it as much as possible with their feet. If she did throw a punch, Illia would go to grab it and pull her arm downwards, bringing her center of gravity to a point she would topple over with her inertia. If she kicked for whatever strange reason, Illia would simply catch it and lift it and leg sweep her other. There was no way she could be that much of a rookie though. If for whatever AWFUL reason she decided to use magic to attack her again, she would go on the offensive and strike at the obstinate bitch’s neck as quickly as she could; which was incredibly.
Ideally this would knock her off her feet. The lesson here would be to expect the unexpected. It wasn’t going to be a rough thing. Just hopefully enough to not let her arrogance guide her. A mind clouded by pride would be a detriment in combat. She was glad Yara finally had some more spine. But wax wings that fly too close to the sun melt.
She didn't want to here one of the most promising up- and -comers died because their head got too big.
