❝ | I'm counting on hearts like yours to keep me burning. You be bright when I'm starting to rust. You be the why behind my what. I'm counting on hearts like yours to help remind me to keep ignoring the white noise behind me. Don't ever let them water me down. 'Cause I know, Once you feel it you can't unfeel it, Once you dream it you can't undream it | ❞ |
She could tell something was bothering him, she could feel the stress and the strain but since he did not readily volunteer it she was not going to push it. She didn’t want to cause any more stress on him than he was already dealing with.
She smiled softly but its wasn’t a joyful smile, just a reassuring comfort for both of them. “Well I have found a couple of interesting flowers that I only heard about but never had the chance to use due to the rarity. From what I was taught the flower itself can’t be used except through a distillation process to make aromatic oil. Some of the merchants though carried some of the oil with them in perfumes…Ylang Ylang is the name of the flower,” she pointed to some of the flowering trees across the river.
The trees were large and their branches dropped from the weight of their bright yellow blossoms “Even though its winter their environment is in the tropics so they bloom periodically throughout the year.”
Some of the other trees that shared similarities did not have blossoms on them. “Distillation requires a stationary location and the proper equipment…if I ever find a place that I want to call home then I think I would like to try. Plants themselves may have a benefit but the essential properties are in the oils of the plants and carry a stronger healing property.”
She sighed looking over to him; talking about her work lifted her spirits some and that fervent sparkle was slowly creeping back into her eyes “I have a lot more work and traveling to do though before I could even pick a place…though I am pretty sure I would pick a warmer climate…I don’t like the cold very much at all and the winters in Lanaryu were always so dreary. I want to find a place full of color and vibrancy ya know? Some place that inspires curiosity…some place with both fresh water and salt water…Necluda so far has been my favorite but I don’t know about the other regions.”
Pausing she contemplated some “There’s too many things to see and do…so many people that I want to help. There have been rumors and whispers of unsettling things. Part of me gets easily overwhelmed and I think I’ve made a mistake…one very small Zora can’t stop a raging storm. If I hadn’t been traveling with you goodness knows I probably wouldn’t have even made it this far…” she tapered off with her talking.
She only spoke what was on her mind nothing majorly heavy just some of her hopes and fears. He was easy to talk to before and that was still true. Though back then she had done most of the listening and reassuring and barely any of the talking.
