It was a dreary and stormy day along the road from the Zora’s domain. The land needed a refreshing, cleansing rain and though it felt as if the land ached with mourning it also released a sigh of relief as the rain began to wash the sins of the day away. However, the lone red, black, and white mottled Zora used the rain to hide the tears that slid down her face. She was leaving home, but it was not a journey to be celebrated. Today had been a day of contention and strife within her home, on a day that was supposed to be joyous. It was the anniversary of Lelana’s birth since her growth spurt had come to completion, and as was tradition the young Zora was to lay claim to their occupational intentions. She knew her parents, her father specifically, had hoped for Lelana to apprentice under the Nursery Stewards to raise the younglings as it was a fitting and secure occupation that presented no harmful threats.
However, when Lelana had declared to her father she wished to apprentice as a warrior and Pilot to Vah Ruta her father had questioned every positive skill she had ever possessed. Tearfully in a fit of anger Lelana had grabbed the rough basics she knew she would need and declared herself to be leaving and would not return till she proved to him her competency and skill. She had evaded guards and soldiers with ease and now she found herself trodding down the mountain side off to find her own way in the unknown world.

As Lelana made her way along the dirt paths that lead through the mountains frog jumped out of her way as she approached them, and birds sang in the trees.
As if Hylia was responding to her wish to prove herself in combat it wasn’t long before the zora heard some trilling and hissing noises up ahead as the path dipped down and ran parallel to the river. Lizalfos most likely, they tended to pollute the waterways here, and had been becoming more problematic of late. From what she could here there was only one, and it was in the water too. While zoras were, of course, the undisputed champions of underwater combat, lizalfos were not to be underestimated either. It would be a perfect test of her skills. She had a few moments to prepare herself should she desire it as the lizard was yet to become aware of her since it was eating a fish it recently caught and was, for the moment, oblivious to its surroundings outside of its meal.
there are some frogs hopping about if Lelana feels so inclined, especially as the path descends towards the river.
1 lizalfos in the water. from what you can tell it has a spear at its back.
Go prove your worth young zora.

Zora

Skewering a couple of frogs Lelana froze when she looked up seeing the Lizalfos a short distance away treading water and eating. This part of the river was plagued by these monsters and it compromised the Zora’s fishing expeditions. May as well clear as many out as she could before she was no longer able. She secured the frogs at the end of her spear to disguise the spearhead and then silently slid into the water.
Being a Zora, holding her breathe was a moot point as her gills began to work pulling the oxygen from the water as it passed over them. She could see the underside of the Lizalfos clearly along with the wafting of blood from the fish it picked apart. She maneuvered her spearhead along the surface of the water making the frogs dance within the peripherial vision of the monster, hoping to catch its eye and in doing so land her first catch of the day. Should the Lizalfos approach the frogs she was poised and ready to sharply jab her spear upward into, what would most likely, be the Lizalfos jugular. At the very least she would hopefully injure it enough that she would be able to track its blood trail through the water.
However, that presented another risk entirely for the predators below the surface.

While the young Zora was planning an assault on the Lizalfos, another fish-person was making her way through the water. Her black-blue scales mixed in well with the waters at the deepest depths of the river.
The princess from another land was wandering, having grown bored of hanging around Zora's Domain. They treated her like she was made of glsas, as though she needed someone to coddle and protect her. She wanted to stretch her fins, to get some exercise in.
Keen blue eyes peered through the water, spotting the Zora and her Lizalfos target. Clenching tightly onto her trident, she would dive to the bottom of the river, content to watch and jump in if need be.

The lizalfos stopped eating into the fish so fervently when it saw the frogs (on a stick) moving around. It was clearly smart enough to not fall for such an obvious trap, but it supposed it could do with the free food. Why did zoras always underestimate the lizard folk? Perhaps it was because they couldn’t communicate the same way as the other folk of the lands. It was unfortunate that barrier couldn’t be breached, and such a stigma existed between the zoras and the lizalfos. To attack while enjoying a freshly caught meal… She supposed she could play along, this was most likely a fight or die scenario anyways. She knew she couldn't out swim a zora in the water.
Moving its eyes wildly, as if in excitement, it gets a little closer to the baited spearhead. Then its tongue darts out from its mouth and slurps the frogs off the Zora’s spear tip with uncanny speed. Then, bringing its own spear to bear, dives down towards the unfortunately assumptive Zora. She would pay for this lack of judgement. The lizalfos found itself wondering what a good zora fillet would taste like.
The tables have turned a little bit, it's a good thing there is help in the water as well. It's a pity what generations of racial hatred does isn't it?

The Zora went completely still, her dark scales helping her blend in. Only the blues of her eyes could be seen, and they could be mistaken for a trick of the light, or perhaps particularly pretty stones on the bottom of the river. And then the Lizalfos was moving. The Zora moved forward slowly, so that the Lizalfos was never any further from her than before. Her movements were slow and careful, as to keep from disturbing the water enough to get its attention. The Lizalfos took the frog from the Zora's spear, before suddenly charging down towards the Zora, spear prepared. Ciel kicked off, racing forward in a flurry of movement, spear at the ready. She aimed the spear at the Lizalfo's torso, racing forward as fast as she could so as to take it off guard. Lelana

Well, that didn't go as Lelana had envisioned it. As the Lizalfos charged at her, spear at the ready Lelana adeptly swerved out of the direct line of her quarry. Readying her own spear she pulled back to circle into the monsters blind spot as the glint of a trident caught her eye. It was the young Zora that had been visiting the kingdom.
A thrill raced up Lelana's spine and coursed into her bloodstream. This would be an excellent opportunity to lift her spirits from the disgrace she had experienced earlier.
Focusing back on the Lizalfos she took her opening from behind to dart in, spear in front of her, and have it sink into the exposed scales of the lizard. As she shot forward her body rotated like a twirling torpedo, this was to make her a more complicated target. ● TAGGED ● NOTES●

The tables turned on the lizalfos just as fast as she had turned them on the zora. She was aiming to pierce the zora when a sharp pain erupted from her torso. There was, apparently, another zora lurking around and she didn’t see it, what a foolish mistake. How did she not see them coming? As she recoiled form the blow, the original zora took the opportunity to make a counter attack, stabbing her own spear into her. The combined force and direction of the attacks made against the lizalfos thrust the creature into the air, both zoras coming with it, and it landed hard on the ground. It let out a rattling rasp as air entered its chest cavity through its punctured lung. “Nowa... Zowo nowo ded mo-i.” Its eyes twitching in seemingly random directions as it looked for some way it could escape the situation. It reached its arms up to try and find a rock to grasp onto to clamber away. A crimson stream was issuing from the dual wounds in its torso.
Someone ordered a lizalfos Kebab? Lelana @ciel

Lelana let go of her spear as she was pulled out of the water with the lizalfos and summersaulted in the air landing deftly on the bank. She looked down at the dying monster and grabbed her spear shoving it into its body cavity deeper hoping to bring a quick end to its death.
Death was a necessary evil in this world of Lizalfos vs Zora. Mildly wishing she had left the creature to its super she shook her head. She couldn’t go being soft on monsters if she were to become a competent fighter out in the real world. She had killed fish before, but that had been for food. She held her spear firmly waiting for the lizalfos to cease its desperate struggles. It was beyond healing the wounds anyway.

Ciel braced herself as she neared the Lizalfos, nearly being thrown by the force with which she skewered the lizard monster. The other Zora struck moments later, and the combined force of their attacks sent all three into the air. She pulled out her trident and leaped away upon landing, crouching to absorb some of the impact.
She felt some pity for the desperately struggling Lizalfos, easibly able to imagine a Zora in its place. So, seeing Lelana stab its body cavity deeper, she would step forward, intenting to shove her trident through its neck and bring an end to its suffering.
"You did well." she would say to the other Zora. "Are you alright?"
