Lelana caught about five more fish, cleaned, and gutted them before she began to head to where she had seen Flynn setting up camp. She carefully scaled the cliff only gaining a few nicks and cuts along the way. She found him drawn into himself and she set about her work silently.
Her movements no longer held tension and irritation. She made a fire and set five of the fish to cook about it. When they were done she would put another round on to cook. While the first set cooked she prepped a poultice of clay from the river bed, frankincense, eucalyptus and marjoram. The herbs where from her kit back home. She ground them up with two stones. When he was done eating she would tend to his head.
As the first fish finished cooking she grabbed the sticks and went over to stand by him placing a tentative hand on his knee hoping to draw him out with food. At the very least she would take care of him until she could safely determine he would survive. He’d done it before and probably hadn’t even gotten any of her medicine kits. He had been oblivious to her before it would be an easy enough task for him to do that now.
Should he relieve her of the fish she would silently go back to the fire and prepare the next round and go back to making another poultice. This one for his shoulders to help with the pain and begin mending the severed flesh. She was silent and resolute in her work clearly lost in thought and many miles away.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
Flynn, while she cooked fish, had gotten up just long enough to check his own trap and pull out two more fish, simply shoving them onto a skewer whole after putting them out of their misery before receding back to his shelter to hold his head to escape the migraines. His eyes followed Lelana as she moved closer though, only one eye opened.
When she offered the fish, he quietly took it, eating it with the only resistance being the shock that had traveled into his jaw from hitting his head. He winced everytime he moved his jaw to chew on the food. Silently, he continued reminding his self that at least Tonga was dead. One less of the backstabbers to deal with. His eyes followed Lelana a little while longer.
But he was at a loss on what to say. He had nothing he could say that he felt would diffuse anything. Whatever he had was sure to just make things worse, so it was best to keep his trap shut. He couldn't bear the noise anyways at this rate.

After she rotated the fish and finished the second poultice she grabbed the first and walked over to him calmly. She had apparently resolved something within herself and the panic and strain from earlier was gone, her eyes held subtle sadness to them but what was the source he wouldn’t be able to tell.
“Here,” she said softly “let me treat your head, it’s not much in the advanced methods of treatment but with what I have it should at least help the pain and the migraines you’re probably experiencing at this point.”
Should he allow her to she would place her mixture beside him and she would begin to smooth it over his rough skin. First along his jawline with firm gentleness and precision up into his temples and through his forehead. “You probably will hate the smell and the eucalyptus will make your skin feel cooler.”
Then she climbed back behind him and began to work diligently coating the medicine on his head wound and massaging it gently into his neck and up around his skull. Then when she was done with that task she went to grab her cloak and the blanket she had and lashed them to the side of the shelter to make a tent that would help mitigate the noise and the light.
She then went back to the fire pulling off the fish and putting the last of them on to cook. She then settled herself by the fire picking apart a fish for herself and rested her head back against the stone staring out into the horizon. She wanted to go sit under the waterfall. Let the crashing water push her down as she felt the sensation of drowning within herself. She had to ride this emotional wave and her own fatigue began to set in. She still needed to tend to his shoulders but she figured she would let him steep a little in the other mixture and have the pain in his head ebb before she started in on the task of sewing him up.

He removed his hands from over his ears when she started working, removing his thick fingers from where they sat in her way. He did his best to ignore the smell while he let her rub whatever the hell it was that she was putting on him. It was already cold, so the strange cooling effect on his skin made his nose scrunch a little bit.
As she moved, he didn't exactly look at her, but his eyes were nearly squinted closed to begin with. There wasn't much he was looking at in reality. "Thanks." He told her flatly, jaw clenching and unclenching from the stress of this entire situation. Of course, actually putting something in his stomach helped quite a bit with his grouchiness, he still found his head swimming with thoughts.
Thoughts he really didn't want in there. Looking to Lelana, finally, he watched her pick at her own fish. Shoving the skewers beneath the shelter, he receded further back into it and pulled his legs close to his self as he fought off the encroaching want to just lay down and take a nap. He was still at a loss of what to say, nothing was coming to him. Well... nothing that he felt comfortable saying.

Once she finished the fish she picked at she went back to examine him making sure she didn’t see any serious signs other than the obvious visibility of pain and disorientation he was in.
Fortunately the bashing she had taken to the head hadn’t been nearly as serious and she was able to function properly despite the resounding thud that resonates in the back of her head. She was quiet and attentive to his needs but she also didn’t overcrowd and suffocate him. Giving him simple instructions when needed.
It was reminiscent of her when she was in the med ward tending to the injured and sick except now instead of carrying herself with timidity it had a soft underlying ferocity that was new.
“Tell me when your ready for me to stitch up your wounds, I want to wait till some of the pain in your head subsided before putting your body through more trauma.”
With that she would leave him to himself and she would go resume her silent watch over their little camp. She would remain silent mulling over things in her mind, processing things and going through what felt like killing a part of herself all over again. It was that old self, the timid one with no voice that let people dictate to her her path. She missed that innocent girl but at the same time she was glad to see her go.
She didn’t have anything useful to say to him, or at least words he would probably even be able to process. He wasn’t the old Flynn she had known but that didn’t stop her silly little heart from aching miserably over him. Besides words could hardly say or put to justice what she felt, but it would simply be an overwhelming burden on him and that was something he didn’t need.
He didn’t need her silliness or her normalcy. He didn’t need what came associated with her from the domain. That life was gone and for him to be able to get past it she would need to fade away and let the past die. She was certain she wouldn’t be able to do it herself though. She would carry him with her like she had done for so long. She would be alone but she would be alright; drowning that unfulfilled ache in what ever distractions she would occupy herself with

Flynn looked at Lelana as soon as she spoke and finally found the resolve to actually speak. He was tired, cold, low on blood, and concussed. "Jus' get it over with." He muttered out, turning his self in the shelter to put the injuries towards her should she come in and start working on them. He didn't flinch as she worked if she would, he didn't have the energy to do so. His muscles would only tense once or twice everytime he was poked.
"Bastard couldn' a come 'cross on dry land. Naw. Had ta pick a fight in a river." He continued muttering, shivering every now and then as his body rampaged at him for what he had just finished putting it through. "What's dun is dun though. Ain't no goin back." He sighed out, shutting his mouth from there on out. He didn't have much else to say, and what happened had him seriously questioning if he could separate the monster from his humanity. He didn't want to go feral like the instincts inside were pulling on.
He was, actually and honestly, very scared.

Working diligently and silently Lelana stitched his wounds, gently scrapped the larger chunks of the poultice off him, and then using the second mixture bandaged up his wounds and his head. It wasn’t as pristine of a job as if she had been in the med ward back in the domain but it was adequate for what she had at her disposal.
She let him talk without disruption, she was just glad he was talking finally if even just a little bit. She set her supplies to rights taking note that she would need to restock soon. This prompted her to recall conversation she had heard at the stables about Lurelin Village and the tragedy that had occurred there. She had a feeling their paths would part soon, she was resolved in that at least, but she wasn’t going to leave him till she was satisfied with his condition. She wouldn’t just simply walk out and leave without a word. No eventually she would approach the topic but it wasn’t now.
Putting that aside she gingerly tested the knot on her head from where Tonga had sufficiently knocked her. It was at the base of her skull, bruised and tender but would heal, she couldn’t see it but it was beginning to turn a deep shade of purple. An indicator that it had been more than a light thwack. Fatigue finally began to catch up with her as she tended to the fire.
After finishing up with the little business about their camp she went back to the shelter and climbed in. Whichever his position was, if there was room in front of him she would wrap herself gently around him in an embrace, careful of his wounds and the rigidity of his body. Placing her cheek against his she would whisper softly into his ear “It’s going to be alright…. you are safe now. The worse has passed; I’m here and you’re not alone.”
She would then gently kiss his cheek and nuzzle his nose with her own. Anything to help draw him out of himself and back to her, to reestablish any of that affection from before they jumped. Her embrace may have been gentle but it was far from being fragile in its resolve. She held him close as his body shuddered from the pain, the cold, and the stress as she tried to help him decompress. She would settle herself straddling his lap for the fullest of her embrace and body warmth. She needed to keep him from going into an uncontrollable spasm of shivers. Between the shelter being blocked from the wind, the fire, and what bit her warmth could give him she hoped to accomplish that at least.
She would continue to hold him in this way if he permitted it performing little acts of affection to show her care for him and hopefully bring him out of the hell he’d wrapped himself up inside his mind.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
Flynn let Lelana straddle his hips, despite the danger of being that close to him while he was still so shooken up. But the extra warmth was greaty appreciated. He rested his head on her shoulder in turn and stared at the cloak and blanket helping form a warm shelter. "I still got mah own blanket somewhere we can use." He never turned his head to look directly at Lelana, still feeling shame burn in his cheeks for being so short tempered.
His attitude was tapering off, but there were still remnants, thanks to the general damage and pain he was sitting through, but he didn't whine about it. He just sat in silence with Lelana for a while longer, listening to her reassuring words. He sucked in a deep, shaky breath, but after that, they evened out. Being informed that he wasn't alone was a huge relief, but he knew that at some point, they'd still have to split up. So he'd just have to enjoy her company for what little time they had left, simple as that.
Enjoy the company of the only non monster thing that had shown him compassion over his development these past couple of months. His mind was finally removed from the cave as he relaxed more, but he'd eventually have to get up to fetch where he left his blanket, especially before the cold rains came in. Blinking a few times, he removed Lelana from his lap and got up to do just that, coming back with a large blanket made from two large deer pelts. "Good thing it didn' get wet." He spoke softly, climbing back into the shelter after tossing a little more wood onto the fire.
He sat down next to her and if she let him, he tossed a part of the blanket over her, hunching his self up underneath of it, eyes watching the fire outside.

The heavy burden of concern alleviated as she felt him relax in her arms, she could still sense his imbalance in his disposition but she didn’t pry. It was best to let somethings go without confrontation. She shifted with him as he lifted her up off him and sat there waiting for him to come back.
When he did she gratefully let the blanket fall about her, though as he sat down she shifted a little closer to him; entwining her fingers into his hand as he stared at the fire. Should he allow her to maintain her hold she would simply rub her thumb softly over one of his knuckles and rest her head upon his shoulder.
This place he had brought her to bore a heavy weight on his shoulders more than when he had been in Necluda. She didn’t know why but she didn’t ask him, knowing that it would be counterproductive to all the work he had just gone through to come out of the lockdown he had been in for the last few hours.
She did speak up however after a moment; “Would you like to find something to talk about or would it be better to stay quiet?” she asked softly.
If he wanted to talk she would find something to engage them even if it meant reading out of her materia medica, if silence was best she would settle in comfortably. She was more focused on what he needed right now and if he just needed someone there to sit silently with she was more than obliging to do so.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? TAG. LelanaTHEME. xxxNOTES. it's a weak post but it's a start |
Flynn shook his head and looked over at Lelana, large arms draped over his knees. "How's yer plant research stuff comin' long?" He asked, pushing the subject away from whatever was bothering him. It wasn't her responsibility to put up with what was bugging him. It was all on him and him alone to get over the proximity of the nearby cave and the events that transpired in it.
He shifted some, but not much, the area was finally starting to heat up, especially thanks to the protecting from the wind given to them by the coverage on the tent.
