I am immune to you. You are immune to me.
We are both sick souls with the same disease. The distinct angry crashing and grating of stone echoed throughout the training yards. Usually, this indicated that the Blademaster was in a mood but this time it was one of the newest recruits to the Yiga Clan.
Yara had been an exceptionally busy student the last few days pushing herself to her limits when she wasn't under her Master's direct scrutiny. She had been using the push to advance to express all that pent up aggression and had managed to adapt some of the tricks she had observed while successfully honing her earth spire.
It was earth spire that Yara was practicing currently, with each round of experimentation with form and execution she would take the time to soothe the earth and set it back to rights. It was this task she was performing now, having disrupted the larger majority of the yard, while Jett lounged in a sunny patch amongst the dirty snow and ice.
She appreciated this part of her routine, keeping her insync with her element and soothing it gently back into its previous state. The gentlest one would find Yara would be as she coaxed the earth back into submission...or if she was bonding with Jett.

The crashing of the boulders in the yard would've bothered Masanori if he hadn't grown used to it over a lifetime of being in the Yiga Clan. When he woke from his slumber, he was perfectly well rested, as always. Stretching his back out after sitting up, he swung his legs out from the top of the bed before standing and grabbing a robe from a coat-rack that hung near his door. He slipped it over himself before heading towards the source of the sound. It was rare that Axel was up so early, even if Masanori had been sleeping in later than usual to help his body with the healing process from his nearly suicidal sacrifice at Lurelin. Right now, he needed to get back into the swing of things. A nice spar with Axel sounded perfect to loosen up his stiff muscles.
After a few minutes, he made his way out to the training yard. And, much to his surprise, Axel was nowhere to be seen. Instead, it was a beautiful violet-haired girl. What was her name again? Yang? Yumi? Yara! Yara, that was it. A newer recruit, one that Masanori hadn't had the time to talk much with other than barking orders to her as a group. "Not bad." The deep voice of the Yiga Master would spill out across the yard as Masanori walked closer, robe pulled tight around himself. "I came out here expecting Axel, but it's good to see you're making progress, Yara." It was important to remember each name. It made each soldier felt like they mattered. Like he cared about them. Which he needed if he was going to take over Hyrule for Ganon.
"Would you like assistance?" He began. "I need to stretch these stiff muscles of mine, and demonstrating the Earth Spire technique sounds like a perfect warm-up."

I'm not made of stone I'm not defending-downward descending Falling further and further away Getting closer every day I'm on the wrong side of heaven and the righteous side of hell
+ @tagged2 + short note | One of Yara’s many short comings it seemed was being alert to her surroundings even though she was attuned to the earth as she smoothed it. Being focused more on the seamlessness of her task rather than keeping an open ‘ear’ for approaching clansmen. In short, tunnel vision. It wasn’t until the deep, smooth voice rolled into the training yard that the young woman nearly jumped out of her skin whirling around to take a defensive block, hands and arms protecting her core. It was quite clear she had been startled despite the oversized lazing gorilla that remained unmoved at the appearance of the Master, opposites of each other it would seem.
It took only a few moments for Yara to process just exactly who was standing in front of her and she snapped to attention "Apologies sir.” She stated briskly when he paused for a moment. She relaxed slightly his meaning registering, she was used to him orders barked at her…well in her direction at the collective. She certainly hadn’t expected to draw out The Master of the Yiga clan when she woke up this morning to practice before Axel collected her for the day and she certainly hadn’t expected him to be so relaxed in his appearance. He certainly was a man that, no matter his appearance, demanded respect and he had said he had expected Axel to be who he came across and not the apprentice foot soldier. Yara herself was dressed loosely, only a pair of tight, just past the knee training pants and her bindings about her chest that wrapped down to the top of her stomach. The rest of her tanned/scarred skin was exposed and flushed from the cool morning air and her training; for the first time she felt quite bare.
She shook that feeling off and squared herself up, not an impressive height but who said you had to be big and imposing? Eeeeeehhhh certainly not Yara, but the praise did boost her confidence some. When the young woman did speak, a hint of her shock still on her voice she cracked a wry tone “Sorry to disappoint that I am not Blademaster Hagane but I will strive to make a passable sparring partner.” She may have sounded calm but on the inside she cursed herself having gotten herself in a position that if she fucked up it would be a terrible reflection on her skill and the training of her Master.
Well Yara…best you had better not fuck up then | © seadra of gs |
