So many different things ran through Lelana’s mind as he grabbed her, all of them fading into nothingness when her motion came to an abrupt stop as she was pinned beneath him. One was the realization that he had caught her so incredibly off guard that her spear was left wedged in the rocks where she dropped it.
She was stunned by sheer flusterment looking up at his stupidly adorable grin. Coming back to herself and the fact she was not a fan of being easily beaten she would attempt to kick her legs pressing her palms against his knees attempting to free herself.
As she struggled she would retort with “I will do as a I please, yeah.”

Flynn easily resisted the pushing and kicking, keeping his weight on her as she struggled to get free. When she spoke, he started laughing at her, shaking his head. "I mean, ye ain't doing that right now though, are ya?" with his sword still in sheath, he shoved it into the sand next to her and picked her hands off of his knees. "Yer tellin me ya dunno how ta get outta this pin?"
He asked, his face falling a little more confused at that, though he shouldn't be too dreadfully confused. She was probably self taught as far as he really knew, and he doubted anyone else really taught her pins and how to get free. He stayed where he was though, casually resting his weight on her while his nose would occasionally twitch when he picked up a scent here and there. The Malgyorg were stayin in the reef though, so they weren't in any immediate danger.

She flushed a miserable shade of scarlet at his question. It wasn’t that she didn’t know how to get out of it; it was that she had forgotten in that moment. She cursed in offhand vernacular and focused; not on his body on hers but what she could do with it.
She smiled wryly “you got me into a puzzle, now let’s see if I can solve it” she said as she twisted her left wrist against his thumb counting on it bending away to release her hand. Should he release her hand she would then jab her thumb up into the pressure point at the base of his jaw. If he reacted the way she projected and try to escape her thrust and pull to the right as she would try to break his grasp on her right arm and thrust it up into his gut.
However, she was presented with another conundrum. His hand didn't loosen its grip and she looked at him frustrated. "Ok...how do I get out of this?" she questioned frustration clearly in her voice.

Flynn's grip was broken from the twisting, but it wasn't long before he snatched at her hands again, an annoyed, feral growl coming from him as she pushed at the pressure point. It didn't budge him, instead, it just annoyed him, quite a bit. "Pressure points don' work 'gainst everythin'. It ain't a good idea ta rely on em." he stated, matter of factly as his head returned to a more neutral position, looking down at her.
"Easy." He let go of her wrists for a moment, one arm reaching back to grab her ankle and put it to where it locked his leg. "First, pick a direction and lock the leg on that side. Then buck. Use yer hips n yer legs n push. While pushin, roll to the side and go for a pin." He reset his leg and reached back to grab her wrists, moving back to pin her. "Go on n try it."

She nodded determinedly as her face flushed again not trusting her voice anymore. She hooked his left leg and bucked up into him sharply, her small frame having more ferocity in her aggravations than she even expected as she pushed and rolled to the left letting out her own growl.
If he didn’t resist her she would roll on top of him as he instructed to “pin” him best she could. His torso was still much longer than hers and the way their hips where locked it prevented her from being face to face with him. But still, she would try to pin his hands down by his sides. “There,” her left brow twitched “does that solve your riddle?” she questioned her voice still sharp at least she was a fast learner
Her cheeks flushed from the exertion and from the embarrassment of being bested in such a humiliating fashion. Her chest heaved softly both from the adrenaline of the spar and from him disabling her. She hadn’t expected that in more ways than one.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? TAG. LelanaTHEME. xxxNOTES. Don't worry, flynn is having the same issues, he's just has to focus on not focusing on them. |
Flynn let out another grunt when he was bucked and pinned, looking up at Lelana for a moment, just a blank stare on his face. After a moment, he started laughing, dropping his head back into the sand and water behind him. "There ya go! That's how ya flip the pin right." Once his laughter wore off, he looked back to Lelana and found his self staring for just a bit longer before snapping to.
Sitting up, he reached up to grab the other Zora under the arms to lift her up off of him. "Learn somethin new every day." He needed to get her off of him and to stand up. Brushing his self off, he turned to look up the hills, checking out if he could see anything. "N I should prolly start lookin fer a deer or somethin'." Picking his Katana up, he freed the tie from around the sword itself and set it back up on his shoulders. "I don' think I can catch nuff fish around here to hold me over tonight without makin' me grouchy in th' mornin."
He was chill, yes, he was positive, yes. But he could still become grouchy from a raging lack of energy... and he needed an excuse to keep his mind off of the current happenings until he could calm down. The fight had worked him up quite a bit, it got the blood pumping and he was afraid of hurting her as well. Controlling his instincts was going to take more work than he thought.

She forced a smile wide enough to close her eyes "It is quite astounding what things one can learn in the short span of a day"
Agreeing with him she stood up from where he had placed her after she was sure her legs wouldn't give out beneath her; she checked to make sure her hunting knife was still by her side before she turned her back to him and walked over to the rocks. She climbed onto them and retrieved her spear before looking back at him from her perch.
She nodded understandingly relieved that she would have their campsite to herself for a short while under the valid reason to set in order for when he got back with his kill. "That sounds like a working plan, if you don't need my help...I am a terrible hunter when it comes to land...I will stay here and keep watch over everything." She was at least honest about her scope of abilities it would take her a while to become even a mildly good hunter on land. She could hunt prey with ease through the currents but a russeling bush was her worst enemy.
"Besides" she smiled lightly "I need to finish recording my work from this morning."
This time her smile wasn't forced as she rested her body weight on the rod of spear.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? TAG. LelanaTHEME. xxxNOTES. back bby. They can talk while he's butchering or whatev |
Flynn nodded slowly at her comment about hunting. He his self had to be incredibly careful when stalking up on the prey, so much so that it could take him a while before he grapples and takes down a good sized deer. "Well then I'll be back, ya be careful n what not." With that, Flynn made his way to the beach and up a steep hill, disappearing over it as he went off to try and bag a full sized deer to eat.
He was hungry, and that was an understatement, but just like an alpha predator, he crouched down low and stayed stock still while waiting for some deer to come into scent. It wasn't long before he caught the scent and began to stalk, ever so slowly towards his prey.
He was gone for a while, but the piercing distress cry of a buck could be heard and not too long after that, Flynn was coming over the hillside with a buck slung over his shoulder, the details for how it was hunted left to the imagination. "Bastard kicked me in the face." He huffed out, dropping the animal next to him while he moved over to the fire.

❞ |
After setting the camp to rights she had taken up temporary residence in the fresh water pool to sooth her skin from the drying saltwater, also to float under the waterfall letting the sheer force of the water keep her spirit grounded as it crashed upon her. It was something she had done in the past when she was riding the waves of her emotions and the energy around her. It physically reminded her that there was a force that bigger than herself. It was calming, enveloping herself in the sound of crashing water as it melded with the pool.
She had just resurfaced when she heard the piercing cry of the buck and she took that as a sign that Flynn had found his prey. She then went to check on her traps she had set out the night prior in the low tides and collected the crabs she found therein. She had always been partial to the waters bounties, having not developed a palette for the tougher, earthier meats of the land. Her appetite also was not as ravenous as his own and she only needed a small amount.
While he was gone she had also caught a few more fish which she prepared and left on a drying rack so she could store them in her pack for the road.
She sat on a rock by their campsite facing the way she anticipated he would come and watched for him. When he crested the hill, she wondered to herself if she could get used to the view of seeing him come back to her. She had done this many times before when he was in his exile where she would sit and stare out hoping for him to come home; but it had never happened and now it was as if they were in a different world and a different life entirely. While she rationalized she would not be satisfied to do nothing with her life she also knew it would be a lonely life indeed without him in it.
She rationalized as well that she didn’t need him per say but her want of him was that of a strong riptide that threatened to carry her into unknown and dangerous waters. That want left her feeling things her mind didn’t know how to rationalize and the only cure for that was going to have to be the waterfall again if she focused on it too long. After a while of watching him she pulled out her work to finish it from earlier. Best to keep herself distracted so that her minds other fancies didn’t distract her.
She looked up at him however when he placed the buck down and huffed about his injury. She was instantly up and in front of him concern on her face “sit down please” she requested firmly.
Should he comply she would then examine his injury looking for signs of blunt force trauma and charting her next methods of action.

Am I part of them? Are they part of me? |
Flynn was hungry, but he supposed he could stave off the hunger a bit longer to humor Lelana wanting to look him over for injuries. There wasn't anything too severe, but there definitely some bruising around the right set of gills on his cheek. He sat there like a good boy, but moved his face away if she tried to touch his gills. "It's nothin too bad. Just pissed me off by kickin me in the face." He grumbled out, looking to the deer on the ground not too far from him.
"Can I get ta that?" He asked, but waited anyways until Lelana let him up. When she finally did, he got up and moved over to set the buck up for butchering. Flynn went down and butchered it clean as well, obviously having gotten this down to some sort of practice. "S'not often I get a buck this big." He commented idly, pinching his bottom lip with his sharp teeth to distract his self from the hunger a little longer. Though he did wipe off a rock after washing it clean and dropped it by the fire, slapping a large slab of meat onto it, while in his hand, he held a red strip to chew on idly to help tide him over while he worked. "Ya know how ta make their stomachs into water skins? Or their entrails into strapping and ties?"
He rattled on about the varying uses of the different parts of a deer. How the heart was delicious when cooked right, the brains could be lightly cooked to help tan the hide, and the hide itself could be cleaned on one side, if done right, and the other side be preserved for a functioning blanket during the cold. "I think I'mma turn this hide inta another blanket. stitch it ta my other one n make a thicker, better insulated cover." He thought for a moment, but carried on with his work.
"Ain't big nuff ta turn into a type a tarp. So I may as well make it useful." He continued idling on, finally finishing butchering the deer and started cooking the meat, eating the pieces as they came off the fire, medium rare. "Ya ever had a deer?" He asked, looking over to wherever Lelana may be.
