I am immune to you. We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yara shrugged of the unsettling twisting in her stomach. The newcomer, this Damion, made her feel unsettled. She was used to Axel’s temperament but even then, he wasn’t base in his conjecture. “Monsters, primarily” she stated “what’s your target? Anything specific or just anything that we come across?” Jett took a looming stance behind Yara sizing up the monstrous man. Jett could sense the rogue was primal in nature and would be an unpredictable element to the test given to them by Axel. He would have to be particularly vigilant with this apparent…ally?

Damion laughs, the sound of his rumbling mirth would settle a twisted knot of trepidation within a passerby’s gut. “Anything we find. But I would like tall pig best. They taste best chilled like this. It keeps the blood from escaping so fast.”
“Well met, Axel. We’ll get on just fine I think. Are you coming too? Plenty to go around. It’s been a while since I’ve travelled in a pack.” looking at the bear "How did you get such a beast?"
Feeling himself being sized up by the ape, he lets out a growl that a lynel would be proud of. “Quit staring, ape. You’ll see my prowess soon enough.”
He started walking off towards a higher peak to get a better vantage of the lands around him. He knew his game would have a fire to keep warm. Fires made smoke.

What an absolutely disgusting display of "skill" come back when you think you're actually worth something. ▼ | "Then the Moblins up here will provide a challenge. There haven't been any of lord Ganon's monsters up here recently to boot. Just don't lead us too high Yara. I don't want to drag a dead, frozen footsoldier back to Master." He informed quietly. His blademaster patrols more often than not had him taking note of surrounding monsters and potential threats, so he had a pretty good count on everything, but he wasn't going to lead anyone anywhere. Perfect opportunity to put Yara to the test.
At the well met comment, he nodded slowly. "Yes. I want to see how well she can stalk in snow." Snow crunched underfoot, it was noisy and difficult to hunt in with how sound carried over it so smoothly. There were no trees up here, only rocks, snow and ice. "I acquired Mot as my familiar when I sold a part of me to Ganon. Other than that, he was a bear cub I found when I was a kid in the sparse forests of Akkala." His eyebrows lifted at the growl and his eyes settled on Jett.
It was her responsibility to control Jett and herself. Familiars fed off of your subconscious and could easily betray fear or paranoia if you weren't careful. He was hoping Jett would pick up on how few fucks Mot gave about this guy, but that didn't seem to be the case. |

I am immune to you. You are immune to me.
We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yare determined it would be best to dispel Jett for the time being, sending into his flurry of shadows with a reassuring calm that she would be alright and would call upon him if she needed him. Jett had become increasingly more protective as of lat. His fury wasn’t cool and calculated like either Axel’s or Mot’s; it was driven by the instinctual urge they both felt for the others safety. Ever since their training in Faron she had become more resolved in her duty to Jett and her duty to her Master. Yes, Master Ryuu was the Master but Axel was directly her teacher, superior, and overall mentor, though less touchy-feely sentiments than what most mentor/mentoree relationships consisted of. It was, however, the most solid relationship she had, had in nearly the last decade of her life and probably would continue to be so for another while.
Wrapping her cold weather cloak about herself tighter she followed Damion, eventually catching up and keeping a small distance ahead on his right. Even if Axel wanted to observe her capabilities at snow hunting it would be nearly impossible to go silently with the untrained giant. Though he had his way and they had theirs. His large feet crunched down on the snow and earth with a forceful impact with each step, so much so that her ability to track through the earths vibrations where hindered. She would have to adapt and identify when they stopped.
In most places she was relatively light on the snowbanks leaving only small imprints with her now, booted, feet. Reaching a smaller peaking outcrop, she surveyed the area, sounds and sights looking for a sign of any potential prey.

Nodding in interest at Axel’s story of how he obtained his familiar. “I see. Well if I was supposed to get one I must have killed it.” Upon the comment of Axel’s yet unnamed apprentice, he put his hand to his beard, stroking it for a moment. “Fine. I’ll let her lead this hunt. I will provide instruction. I haven’t seen a good huntress before. I usually find men in the woods. Should be fun.”
Watching intently as the eager young woman pulls ahead of him, he wasn’t used to being lead on hunts. But he couldn’t complain, the view was nice at least. He didn’t spend a lot of time around women. None that didn’t try and scream and run from him at least. He watched her carefully once she reached the top of the hill they were climbing. Monitoring her movements carefully. Seeing what she was doing. Observing her methods. Storing criticisms for later. Upon reaching the top himself, Damion takes a deep breath, letting out a heavy sigh. “The air fresh here.” He soaked it in for a moment, letting the cold wash over him for a moment, exulting in the sensation, before pulling his fur clothing tighter around himself and focusing himself on the surroundings. Eyes glowing a pale shade of purple the monster of a man surveys the landscape, noting several small plumes of smoke scattered around the snowy landscape. The larger fires were clearly the moblin bonfires, they were usually stupid enough to signal their position so adequately… they ate significantly more than bokoblins did. There was one fairly close by, most likely a pair of them. It was a decent plume, but wasn’t overly large, that would signify a more populated camp and he wasn’t looking for that big of a fight. Just a clean hunt. The only part that worried him was the fact that there weren’t trees to hide his advance, he would have to rely on the rocks and snow. “So, what do you see, woman? Tell me your take on what lies before you. Where shall we prowl?” A devilish gleam in his eyes and a smile spread across his face.

I am immune to you. You are immune to me.
We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yara scanned the low-lying landscape for signs of a small Moblin camp. They didn’t want anything bigger than two more than likely. Axel had trained her on gauging the size of the camps based on smoke plumes, tracks, and the general chattering grumbles. They were too far up for the latter so she had relay on her sight to pick out the right target. Too far and they ran the risk of overexposing themselves to the elements but too close and the hunt would be hurried and sloppy. She spied a widely open outcrop that held a Moblin pair camping against one of the mountain ledges she pointed in response to his question. “Our quarry is there, we can hem them in, give them no chance to run once we are close enough.” She was confident in her choice here, if there was one thing she was decent at it was taking advantage of the earthen resources as a tactical move when tracking prey. It was only when she was doing her own hunts that she could let her primal side dictate her usual rationale.

“Hmmm. Looks manageable.” It wasn’t the one he had picked out, it didn’t have the rock formations he could use to sneak up on them with, but it would do. He could drop in from above, or, if requested work as live bait. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d attacked moblins alone. It looked like the site she spied was fairly small. There were only 2 moblins visible there. Curious of how she would choose to proceed, “How do you want to handle it?” Damion was thoroughly enjoying himself. This girl showed talent, although it would need some refining. He had to admit, he doubted her abilities as a predator, but at least she could find a mark well enough. Now to see how she executed it. That was 80% of the challenge of the hunt, the other 20% was the thrill of the kill. He couldn’t wait to sink his teeth into some tall pig. He stared at the targeted camp, eyes growing brightly. The thrill of the hunt rising within him.

I am immune to you. You are immune to me.
We are both sick souls with the same disease. She looked back down at the target, the cliff provided a closed enough alcove that she could probably seal the moblins in with her wall. “When we get close enough I can shut them in with stone, then you can jump them from above and leave the rest to calamity.” She determined that Axel probably wouldn’t agree with leaving the rest of the fight up to the chances but she didn’t particularly care. She was hunting, this was her decision, and so far, Damion hadn’t objected. Not that she cared if he did, she didn’t need to prove herself to him; she just had to display her competency for stalking in these environments. After the events earlier, she was capable of cornering her prey, that much she knew.

Either this woman was one hell of a mage, or she sorely underestimated the strength of moblins. It would be fun to watch her learn the error of her ways, or her impressive magic. Also jumping down on some long pig from a cliff sounded like fun. That would be an acceptable way to get him there relatively undetected. “Let’s see how this plays out.” Worse came to worse, he could hold them with dark chains. “See you at the site. I’ll give a howl when I’m in position.” With that he started trudging through the snow towards the alcove his prey waited, oblivious to the dire situation that was about to unfold before them. He didn’t usually get along with people, but these guys were predators, he could get along with them. He picked up pace and broke into a run.
These moblin are about to have a very bad day. Yara

I am immune to you. You are immune to me.
We are both sick souls with the same disease. Yara broke off from Damion making sure to skirt the opposite direction to ensure that if they were spotted that only one of them would be called out of the hunt prematurely instead of both of them. If worst came to worst she would act as a diversion and dodge them until Damion entered the scene. She would have to adapt to her partners fighting style. It was sure to be raw and untempered, which sent a thrill of excitement and a rush of adrenaline pumping through her veins. Axel wasn’t there to yell at her but she was sure he was somewhere with his ever-watchful deadpan stare. He would be watching her, taking notes, and probably giving her a lecture or two about giving into the battle hunger that she craved.
It was a euphoric high for her and it was the most pleasurable activity that relieved some of the pressure that was bottled up. Fighting was where she could let that steam off constructively, at least in her mind anyway.
She crept along softly and lightly relying on her sense of smell and sight to be her guiding compass until she reached the occasional boulder. On the deep drifts she was light footed enough that the frozen snow acted as a buffer that kept her from sinking in. Eventually she managed to sneak up to the mouth of the alcove, ensuring her location was downwind so that it didn’t give her away. She huddled into a bush and waited for Damion’s signal.
